This project has some info about cars for people who don't know anything about cars. ENGINES i don't want to explain how they work so you can google it. V engine, cyllinders are in V shape eg. V2 V4 V6 V8 V10 and V12. There are still V engines with more cylinders but you won't hear much about them. There are also straight/in-line engines. The cylinders are positioned in a line. The row of cylinders can be at any angle. And there are W engines. You will probably only hear about these in Bugattis. The cylinders are positioned in a w shape. W16 There are also radial engines but you will probably never hear about them. ci (cubic inches) and cid (cubic inches displacement) mean the total number of cubic centimeters in the cylinders. An engine might be called a 429, but only have 427ci, so don't only pay attention to the name. There is also cc (cubic centimeters) if you're not American. And there are liters, abbreviated l, which everybody uses. Carburetor, device for supplying a spark-ignition engine with a mixture of fuel and air. Components of carburetors usually include a storage chamber for liquid fuel, a choke, an idling (or slow-running) jet, a main jet, a venturi-shaped air-flow restriction, and an accelerator pump. Most modern cars no longer have these, and instead rely on direct fuel injection, which is exactly what it sounds like. CHASIS AND SUSPENSION A chasis is a vehicle's frame, the underpart of a motor vehicle, on which the body is mounted; if the running gear such as wheels and transmission, and sometimes even the driver's seat, are included, then the assembly is described as a rolling chassis. Suspension is the system of tires, tire air, springs, shock absorbers and linkages that connects a vehicle to its wheels and allows relative motion between the two. Suspension systems must support both road holding/handling and ride quality, which are at odds with each other. Race cars (usually) have great handling, but at the price of comfort. BRAKES There are 2 main kinds of brakes, drum and disc. Drum brakes work by metal parts squeezing the inside of a melal drum. They are old and are incredibly annoying to fix, so disc brakes were invented, They work by a pair of calipers squeezing a rotor. To be honest I'm surprised they didn't think of disc brakes first. There is also the parking brake which instantly locks your wheels. Most people only use it for drifting. ABS, or anti lock braking system, stops your brakes from locking the wheels, which actually helps your car stop faster. DIFFERENT TYPES OF CARS Muscle Cars my personal favorite, true muscle cars have high top speeds, loud engines, and can be used in a race (usually drag) Traditionally, they have big 6 and 8 cylinder engines, but some cars during the 80s and the new Mustang ecoboost have V4s, sometimes for fuel efficiency, sometimes to be annoying, and sometimes because they have to. Sport Cars. Cars that are sporty. they usually have 2 doors, but sometimes 4. Supercars super fast cars that have technical innovation and stuff Hypercar a car that is REALLY fast Megacar a car that has over 1 megawatt of power (1341hp) SUV usually a family car. usually boring Sedan. usually boring cars with 4 doors. Coupe usually fun car with ONLY TWO DOORS. lots of uninformed not smart people are calling 4 door cars coupes. Convertible. you should know this AWESOME CARS Here are some cars that are awesome and you should google. Chevrolet Corvette Chevrolet Camaro Ford Mustang Bugatti Chiron Ferrari F40 Ferrari 288 GTO Ferrari Enzo Porsche 911 Porsche 718 Toyota Supra Pontiac Firebird Oldsmobile Toronado (1965-67) Oldsmobile Cutlass Lamborghini Miura Lambo Diablo Lamborghini Countach (the old one) There are a lot more cars which should be on this list, and a lot more info about cars that i didn't include here, but i don't want to spend the next eight hours adding it.
space for next costume Every single car brand for making a car (except KIA, i dont thank you for anything because your cars suck)
