look below for the story. I don't expect to win, lol, there's so many other people who are good at writing, and I'm a little rusty at it. the song he sings is 'home' by michael buble. this is from a story I'm writing with some friends, however, this section of the chapter does not have any of their writing, only mine. this is NOT the full chapter. [chapter 8,] Alitsa looked out the window at the rain, watching it fall. She had been silently waiting for her father to come back for days now, never speaking of the matter. she liked the people here, mr. sphinx being the man that took her in. She liked Rebekah as well, and auvry who she didn't see much. There was however another man there, Ezra. He wasn't part of the family. Alitsa had watched him closely, always noticing the care with which he used his right arm; she suspected it to be injured. Every morning he would appear out of nowhere, always doing something. He also always had a cup of coffee, which was WAY too hot. She watched everything he did, curious. but today she didn't care what he was doing. She and Inky were watching, and waiting for syvan. After a while the rain slowed to a trickle and she walked out the door. she left inky behind, and he curled up on the floor. She continued walking to the woods. When she got there, she pulled a vine, a swing dropped down, one with vines instead of ropes. she got on, and pushed off. She continued swinging for a while. Suddenly she heard a voice she didn't know, nearby. She was so surprised she fell right off the swing. After landing in a heap, scraping her arm on the tree, and standing up, she looked around. the voice was just a whisper above the sound of trees, blown by the wind. she listened, hearing it clearly despite how quiet it was. she didn't grow up in the dark of sela for nothing, around there you had to be observant and take every precaution. after a few seconds she realized that it was someone singing. she walked toward the sound, seeing a boy not much older then her. "And I'm surrounded by ten thousand people. I still feel alone, oh let me go home-" he threw a knife into a tree, feet away from her, with such force that alitsa backed away. The knife read "carlsbad cavern" on it. She heard of many caverns, but never one with that name. the singing continued. "and i've been keeping all the letters, that i wrote for you. each one a line or two, 'im fine girl, how are you?'" the knife was torn out of the tree and launched ,at what alitsa thought must be mach 1, toward another tree. "and i would send them but i know that it's just not enough." The knife ripped through the bark of the tree, while the boy rubbed his now sore arm. "my words are cold and flat, you deserve more, then that-" it was then that he noticed the small child watching him. he blinked, and pulled his knife out the tree again. "hello...?" Alitsa glanced around before answering. "hi... sorry for eavesdropping, you just sounded so good i didn't want to interrupt." she said quietly. "er, thanks? I don't really sing near anybody, ever." His voice was quiet but rough, as if he hadn't spoken in over a week. "so... what's your name? im alitsa vra- uh, tolms i mean." she glanced behind her, glimpsing the mansion. "im sebastian... barns. good to meet you, but i really should be going..." "wait! don't move..." he said suddenly. behind her was a creature, it was a wolf, white with flowers in its fur. it growled at alitsa. Sebastian stepped forward slowly, taking alitsa by the arm and leading her away from the animal. the wolf pounced, barely missing alitsa. it landed and turned back toward them. Sebastian stood alone now, alitsa behind the tree. his knife clicked open as the two watched each other. the wolf attacked again, sebastian dodged, grabbed it by the hind leg and slammed it into a tree. Despite his skinny appearance, the boy had a little more power than expected. The wolf stood again and charged. sebastion stood his ground till the last second, the grabbed a vine and swung right over the animal, almost. he let go half way, spinning in the air, and landed right on the wolf. he stood again, gripping the wild dog behind the neck, then threw it at the same tree, which was now splattered with blood. the animal whimpered and limped away. [below for more.]
michael buble Sebastian watched it leave, then picked up his knife which had fallen to the ground when he dodged the first time. alitsa peeked out, "... oh, thank you! That crazy creature must be hungry." he nodded and said "you should get going, before someone starts worrying about you." she nodded and sped off toward the mansion. Sebastian stayed there for a while. He never wanted to hurt that creature. He didn't mean to. but in the past few months he had hurt so many people. He had flashbacks of all the past fights he had. in all of them, the other person started it. but he ended it, always with the others blood on his hands, and oh so much blood. there was martin, the creep should've known better... then there was thomas, poor kid had it coming. and corrin, the little sh- then there was martin again. then there was the one time he never ended it in victory. the one he saw every night, and almost every moment of his life. He really hadn't meant to. but he did. He hurt her, so bad, he knew it couldn't be repaired by words. words were what caused it, and his sick mind. Then he laid his back against the tree, as all the memories began to bring him down again, and he remembered what he did to her.
