Screenshot courtesy of Shipbucket.com HMS Kent (1901) was a Monmouth-class armored cruiser that participated in the Battle of the Falkland Islands in December of 1914. She claimed primary credit for hunting down and sinking the German light cruiser SMS Nürnberg during the Pursuit of the Light Cruisers. The action was viewed as symbolic revenge for the Battle of Coronel just a few weeks prior when HMS Monmouth was finished off by gunfire from SMS Nürnberg and was lost with all hands alongside HMS Good Hope.
