Keeping this here for personal reference when I inevitably start to forget Spotify's beliefs [×] Canon: Spotify was born in a spaceship simulator located in a planetarium. At around 5 months old, they were discovered and sold. While being shipped to their new home overseas, there was a storm and Spotify+a sibling were rescued and brought back. The scientists at the science station ended up taking Spotify in after-all. Spotify's memories of these events are distorted and rearranged in a way that makes it easier to comprehend. Because of this, her view of her childhood will change through her life. She does not know about her family being dead or anything about being on a boat. All she really remembers is the stories her mother would tell her about the planets and stars. Spotify Canon: Spotify was a nameless minor god birthed in the heavens. When their ship fell from the sky, the gods of higher power rescued them. Spotify was chosen by the gods to be redeemed. Spotify must live life on Earth and learn+ do missions to regain divinity and return home. When they do, their family will be waiting for them. Spotify's beliefs stem from a place of immature understanding. A lot of the things Spotify has been through are so far out of the scope of comprehension that she has resorted to creating details to fill in the blanks. He misses his mom and siblings, so creates a reality in which he believes he will be reunited with her. His beliefs are very loose and open to adjustment to include the things he encounters: cats strong enough to defeat foxes? They surely must also be divine. Spotify will be very defensive of their beliefs, unwilling to shake them entirely. What else explains their first 6(ish) months of life? As of currently, Spotify still believes themself to be divine in nature, but not in body. They believe that they will regain their divinity and this life on Earth is just a trial. The side effects of this belief system are: • Loneliness • unbearable yearning • insurmountable pressure • mild disconnect from reality These feelings will most often be repressed and hidden. Spotify is a projection of what others want them to be.
Note: Spotify began as an absolute spoof character and a joke, but I am determined to make her a deep character with many dimensions and complex feelings <3
