Rein woke up to see James Sorani at the door, watching him. He looked beside him and saw Deimos was gone, knowing he had probably sneaked off in the night. He sighed, and turned to the son of Hermes. "What do you want?" Rein asked, sitting up. "Chaos wants to speak to you," the son of Hermes said with a smirk. He stood up, and opened his mouth to ask where Deimos is, but then James Sorani added, "Alone." Rein gulped, and nodded. "But first, get dressed, into something nice." "Like a suit?" Rein asked with a groan. Sorani nodded, and tossed him the Helm of Darkness. Rein caught it, and said, "Ok, fine. But just this once." James Sorani smiled knowingly and said, "Ok, see you later, Meleager." "Not you too!" Rein said, exasperated. He used a black wall of energy to close the door behind James Sorani as he walked out of Rein's room. Rein looked in the mirror, and saw that his hair was starting to become curlier, and darker. He also saw streaks of gray throughout his hair, and mumbled, "I look like I'm getting old." He heard James's laugh, and sighed. "I thought the son of Hermes was gone," he said to himself. "But I guess not, if he's listening to me talk to myself." James Sorani laughed again, and said, "Fine, I'll leave, Meleager." He smirked, and thought to himself, *Finally.* Rein walked over to the closet, and saw a black suit with a dark gray collared shirt. He sighed, and said, "Good enough." He put the suit on, and pulled out some black military boots, and sighed. He combed his hair with his hand, then put the helm on his head. He walked out of the room, and saw the form of Chaos once again. The spiky black hair gleamed with sweat, the tan skin was oiling with more sweat, and his dark eyes were laced with one emotion: Pride. Chaos rushed forward, and hugged Rein to his chest. Rein's eyes almost bugged out of his head. *What is wrong with Chaos, and why is he hugging me?* He thought to himself. After a long moment, Chaos smiled down at him and let him go. Rein took a step back, and said, "Are you ok, Lord Chaos?" He watched as Chaos looked around the room, then looked back at Rein. "Yes, my boy. But I am proud!" Chaos said with a smile. He put a hand on Rein's shoulder, and knew Chaos was going crazy. "You did what I thought you would fail at, and made a f()0l of the gods while doing it!" Rein smiled, and said, "I did do that, didn't I?" But then he thought of the consequences he could face if they didn't win. He shook his head at the thought of consequences, and smiled at Lord Chaos. He wasn't going to mess this moment up. Not when he would probably never be praised by Chaos again. Lord Chaos smiled back at him, and said, "One day, one day soon, you're going to make a fine General." Rein froze, and looked Chaos over. Maybe the primordial god was really going crazy. But no, Chaos looked like he was completely serious. "You're kidding," Rein said hopefully. He could only imagine the trouble being a general could land him in with his father, not like he cared. "I'm not," Chaos said with a grin. "If you can make a f()0l out of the gods with no problem, then you can lead an army." *That's entirely messed up,* he thought to himself. But he said to Chaos, "Right, like I can lead an army." Chaos squeezed the hand on his shoulder, and smiled at him encouragingingly. After thinking for a couple of minutes, he said, "Fine. I'll do it." James Sorani walked back into the room, with Deimos behind him. "Thank the gods," James Sorani said with a smile. "Because I sure as h3|| can't lead an army, and neither can Deimos." "Yes I can!" Deimos protested. "I get that he's one of the strongest demigods out there, and that he knows a lot about random things, but that doesn' t mean that he should be the one to do it," the god of fear said quickly. Rein didn't know whether he should be glad Deimos spoke up, or angry with him for speaking against him. Almost everything in Rein told him to trust the god he l()v3d, but something in him wanted to punch the god. So Rein did the smart thing, and said, "I'm going to go visit Camp Half-Bl()()d, and make sure everything is ok." Chaos nodded, proud enough of Rein to let him do anything. "Check up on Aliza, won't you?" James Sorani asked, looking at him. Rein nodded, not really caring about Drowy. But if he wanted to keep them happy, might as well check up on the daughter of Hephaestus. He walked out of the room, and made himself invisible with the Helm of Darkness. He shadow-teleported himself to the camp, and appeared right outside of the dining hall, where Chiron was in his centaur form, talking to someone. "Chiron, why would I have anything to do about this?" Rein heard a girls' voice say. "Because Hades' Helm of Darkness was stolen, and as you know, gods can't take another god's symbol of power," Chiron said with a sigh. Rein walked in to listen better, and was shocked when he saw Aliza sitting at the Hephaestus table.
"It goes against the ancient laws, yes, Chiron," Aliza said with a roll of her eyes. "And what about Rein Meleager Thomas?" Chiron asked with a smirk. Like he knew what had happened. It took everything in Rein to keep himself hidden. "Does he know that ancient law?" "How am I supposed to know, Chiron?" Aliza asked with an attitude. "He h@t3s me, and I h@t3 him. So we don't talk." She frowned, pretending to think about her h@tr3d for the son of Thanatos. "That's why you woke him up in the middle of the night last night, right? To show you. . .h@tr3d for him?" Chiron asked with a smirk. When Chiron started to act like this, Rein didn't know. But it made Rein suspicious about the old horse, and about how much the old horse knew.
