What are the 7 Tenets? Are Satanists evil? What to say and what not to say to Satanists Answering questions 01: What is Satanism? Satanism is a set of beliefs/a religion based on Satan/Lucifer. 02: Do all Satanists worship Satan? No. Not all Satanists worship Satan/Lucifer. 03: What are the two branches of Satanism? Theistic Satanism and Athestic Satanism. 04: What is Theistic Satanism? Theistic Satanism is when the person believes in the existence of Satan and follows his beliefs. 05: What is Atheistic Satanism? Atheistic Satanism is when the person does NOT believe in the existence of Satan but only follows his beliefs. 06: What are the Seven Tenets? One should strive to act with compassion and empathy toward all creatures in accordance with reason. The struggle for justice is an ongoing and necessary pursuit that should prevail over laws and institutions. One’s body is inviolable, subject to one’s own will alone. The freedoms of others should be respected, including the freedom to offend. To willfully and unjustly encroach upon the freedoms of another is to forgo one's own. Beliefs should conform to one's best scientific understanding of the world. One should take care never to distort scientific facts to fit one's beliefs. People are fallible. If one makes a mistake, one should do one's best to rectify it and resolve any harm that might have been caused. Every tenet is a guiding principle designed to inspire nobility in action and thought. The spirit of compassion, wisdom, and justice should always prevail over the written or spoken word. 07: Are Satanists evil? No, we aren't, there is this "rumor" that Satanists are "evil" but in no way are we evil. Our beliefs may be based on Satan, but that doesn't make us evil in any way. 08: What to say and what not to say to Satanists Do not assume we all worship Satan. That is completely untrue. Try to remember Satanism is just like any other religion (not beliefs, but you know) and it deserves to be recognized/respected. 09: Answering Questions: "what is it like?" -anonymous I don't know what to say but it's basically how you feel if you were any other religion. I suppose. "What's Satanism?" -anonymous It's a religion based on beliefs on Satan. "I'd like to know the reasoning as of to why you're a Satanist?" - anonymous I know some people have different views as to why, but I felt like it was the right path and I knew for sure I wasn't a complete atheist or any other religion. And yes, I'm an atheistic Satanist. -Felix For me, I felt as if I didn't exactly 'fit in' with any other groups or religions. Since I was born into a Catholic family, which I felt wasn't the right religious path for me, I chose Satanism since I believed in many similar things.
