READ HERE: If parents have ever made a big deal about something in your life, it was a literal lick on the lollipop of how my parents reacted. “Mom, we have a guest here….I’m not three years old!” I gritted my teeth and sighed. “We know that dearie, but you’re being sent to boarding school! I can’t believe it! Start packing up! No, have a celebratory dinner! No, thank this wonderful man for telling us this news! No, inform your old school! Actually, let’s do it all!” Mom fretted. I looked at Dad but he just shrugged. I sighed as Mom blabbered on. “Well, you know, miss, we really need to be at campus by tomorrow, and a celebratory dinner would not be very helpful…” The man, who claimed his name was “Johnny Wright'' shifted from foot to foot. I was sure “Mr.Wright” was not his real name. “Oh, I’m sorry to hold you up Mr.Wright, I will get to work immediately! Willa, go pack up please!” Mom apologized. “Why is she being accepted in the middle of the school year?” Dad asked suspiciously. “Someone dropped out. Miss Huxley here was next on the list.” Mr.Wright lied. “Ah, of course! I was wondering the same question myself! Now, how far exactly is this school?” Mom asked. “London.” Mr.Wright said. This time, I wasn’t so sure he was lying. “London!?” Dad exclaimed. “Ah, yes, well, you must pack quickly then, London is a flight away, and we must really be there by tomorrow probably, so you can stop talking to me and hurry up!” Mom smiled fiercely. She always talked this way when she was feeling a lot of emotions. “Okay then!” Mr.Wright smiled forcefully and led me to my room. “You didn’t tell me this school was in London!” I hissed. “I also didn’t tell you a lot of things.” Mr.Wright replied. I slowly backed away, then grabbed my favorite katana and sliced it through the air towards Mr.Wright. Without even looking he grabbed it. The blade part. “Hey!” I gasped. “I would have bent it if this wasn’t your favorite.” When I looked surprised, he explained further. “The way you hold it shows signs of comfort, unlike most things you hold.” Mr.Wright sighed. “No more games, Willa. Accept reality.”
