Midori Automotive - 2016 Taihō ——————— Press space to view the concept colours. ——————— The Midori Taihō was an engineering marvel created in 2016, a machine beyond its time. The top brass at Midori decided that they needed a car that could compete with the new, upcoming track cars that were blazingly fast. They decided to produce a car that could challenge the likes of Koenigsegg and Pagani. They decided to produce a hypercar that would tap into the true potential of Midori. The engineers and designers at Midori were given a very short time frame to design the car. They were told to make the car as soon as possible, and were constantly pressured to get it out. The car was fitted with a brand new supercharged V12, and the chassis of the car was carefully engineered for maximum speed. The engineers constantly sought out new ways to make the car more efficient, more powerful. Pushing the limits of engineering, what came out was a marvel to challenge any modern day hypercar. Unfortunately, the car took too long to be made. It was meant to be released for production by 2014, but even by cutting corners, a functioning model could only be made by 2015. By that time, the Koenigsegg Regera was launched, putting even more pressure on Midori to finish the Taihō. However, the safety procedures and final checks had to be skipped, in order to finish the car as soon as possible. This resulted in an unfortunate disaster. In March of 2015, the test model of the Midori Taihō was being tested for top speed, after which a final model would have been made. But that could never happen. The hypercar, along with the 2 years spent on making it, was flushed down the drain in a devastating crash. The fastest speed that was recorded before the terrible accident was a whopping 292 miles per hour. The racer was heavily injured, but the Taihō was destroyed. This mistake cost Midori heavily, both financially and in morale. When they attempted to make another test model, even more health risks and problems with the car emerged. If the Taihō was to ever come to light, it would need to be remade from scratch. Unfortunately, the company and the engineers could not afford to remake the car. The project was cancelled, and it was never seen again. But the designers at Midori are planning a new concept, a new Taihō. One that can blow away the limits of every single hypercar. Something that redefines how track cars are made. The Midori Taihō X Concept, to be unveiled in late 2024. ——————— Information about the specifications and the purchasing of this vehicle can be found in the bottom section.
