[push flag and raise volume] Please fill out these questions if you would like to be a manger for Christian HQ (https://scratch.mit.edu/studios/353712/). This does not guarantee you will be accepted. Thanks! If you have not been directed here please don't fill the questions out. Q 1. How did you become a Christian and why? I am so grateful that I was born into a beautiful Christian (Catholic) family. I was baptized as a baby and have been raised as a Catholic ( I am also lucky to be able to go to a Catholic private school where we have Theology class, philosophy class, and Mass) I have received the Catholic sacraments of Baptism, Holy Eucharist, Reconciliation, and Confirmation. I go to my Catholic Church every Sunday with my family (sometimes I will alter serve). I am still a Catholic and Christian now because this is my Faith and I believe that there is a God, a God who loves me. Q 2. How are we saved? We are saved by God's grace. We do not deserve God's grace, yet he pours it upon us. However, it is our choice to accept it ("God provides the wind, man must raise the sails" - Saint Augustine of Hippo). We can either choose to follow God or our own ways. To follow God we must do as he tells us (follow his commandments), because God wants us to be happy/see the Beatific Vision (which is what man was made for). We must follow his commandments, loving God with all our heart, and loving neighbors as we love ourselves. We must be willing to give our life to God (even if this means making big sacrifices). We must stay strong even when the journey (to Heaven) gets rough (keeping faith, hope, charity). Q 3. What do you believe about Satan? Satan was not always a fallen angel. His name was Lucifer (meaning "bearer of light") and he was glorified angel. However, he did not want to follow God's plan and fell into his pride. His pride told him to make his own path, rejecting God (his own creator). Angels are born with full knowledge, so when he chose not to follow God, there was no turning back (because this was his full choice). He wants God's plan to fail (which is to bring us to Heaven). Satan leads us off the road. He doe this in hard to see ways (why we need to avoid the near occasions of sin). By saying yes to God, we are rejecting Satan, the "prince of lies" (because he lies to us by trying to convince us that we are not worthy to be saved and that God does not love us...which is a complete lie). When Jesus died on the cross, he freed us from the bonds of Satan. He defeated him...without Satan even knowing (because Satan thought that killing Jesus would stop God's plan but this helped the plan). However, when we choose to follow Satan, we are giving our lives to him and basically putting our hands out for him to put his chains around. Q 4. Do you think there is a spiritual world around us? I do not think that seeing is believing. Some of the most true things I know of, are the things I cannot see. I believe that the spiritual world is truly around us. I believe that each person has a eternal soul, the beautiful gift that God gave us (as humans). One cannot see the soul but it is there. I also believe in angels...and fallen angels. I believe (as a Catholic) that each person has a guardian angel, who was given from God when we were conceived. Believing in God, I must also believe in a spiritual world (which includes Heaven, Purgatory, and HeIl). Q 5. What is the difference between justification and sanctification? Justification is when God declares a sinner righteous on their work of Christ. In Catholic sacraments, baptism is the means through which we receive justification. sanctification refers to the state or process of being set apart, or being "made holy", full of the Holy Spirit of God. Justification is the first step to being sanctified. To be like Jesus, we first need justification. Q 6. Do you believe in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit? Yes. I believe that there are 3 persons in 1 God. However, believing in the Trinity is also a matter of faith. Why? because the Trinity is a paradox (a seemingly absurd or self-contradictory statement or proposition that when investigated or explained may prove to be well founded or true.) The paradox is this: that God is one, and yet God is three. The Trinity is one of the most central mysteries in Catholicism. I do believe in the Trinity even though I cannot fully understand it (Man's minds are to finite to understand God). (continued below)
Q 7. Thoughts on the LGBTQ+ community and being a Christian? I don't agree with their beliefs but I still respect and love them as my brothers and sisters (because we are all children of God). If God loves them, I should love them as well. Q 8. How should we act towards people who don't agree with us and whom we don't agree with? We should be loving to them. We must have the same attitude as if we were with a friend. It's okay if one points them in the right direction or acknowledges something that they are doing is wrong. If I want to resolve something with them, I will try and be open to what they say. I respect what people believe but I will let them know if something they say is wrong ( not just for the sake of proving them wrong but pointing them in the right direction). Q 9. Is it important to spend time with God and if so, why? I think it's important because God is our creator. We should have a relationship with him. It is in and through prayer that we get to know God. When you are making a friend, you want to get to know them...the same goes for God. If we really want to be with him (in heaven) then we should grow a relationship with him now. Q 10. How will you solve problems when they pop up? I will be patient when a problem pops up. I will think over what I am going to do/make a plan and then solve the problem. If I can not solve it on my own, I will ask someone else for help. Q 11. Will you be active in Christian HQ and how active will you be? Yes. I go on Scratch almost every day. I will be active during school days but even more in the summer. I will try to be a good manager (by managing things and not leaving without telling anyone). I will try to be on about an hour a day at the very least. Thanks for your time and may God bless you! (sorry this was so long)
