Chapter 1: Pilot Hi, I'm Daisy and I'm 12. I live in the UK with my parents and twin sister, Blossom. We are like any other family is, me and our parents. Blossom, however, isn't in the slightest. She always wears one of her 4 outfits - in fact, one is her school uniform and another is her pajamas - and paces around our bedroom 5 times before she gets dressed. My mother remindes us she has a slight learning difficulty, but she is so much smarter than me and I don't think learning difficulties make you only eat broccoli for a week because you got 13 questions wrong on a test ( Blossom replied, "Thirteen is cursed but broccoli will heal me. Broccoli, broccoli, broccoli..." I don't know why she assumed broccoli can 'heal curses' or whatever). Anyway, where was I, oh, yes, it was Saturday morning and I yawned and sat up in bed propping myself up with pillow to read my book. It was just getting good when my mother called, " Breakfast, girls! Are you excited for the theme park?" I groaned. Lexi, our spoiled, 8-year-old cousin, was having her birthday party at Ashridge Amusement, the most boring place Emeraldston has to offer. Trust Lexi to go there, of all places, for her 8th birthday. Well, no I wasn't excited to go, but I had to go, or I'd be grounded. At that point, I was torn between feigning illness or just going anyway until, of course, Blossom pointed out the fact we hadn't got Lexi a present. Although her intention was to get a shopping trip, I used it as an excuse to say, " Mother, we can't go if we don't have a gift. You know Lexi. The party is in an hour and a half, there isn't enough time to get one now. We ought not go at all," "Daisy!" Mother shouted, knowing that I was trying to avoid the event, " I suggest you consider your choices before the family disown you! We should make one for her" As a matter of fact, I'd like to be disowned ( no more attending Lexi's parties) but I'm good at choosing my battles and that would be a death wish. Instead, I nodded and helped Blossom weave a bracelet for Lexi. I chose pink and purple for the bracelet - those are her favourite colours - and then I sat and chatted to Blossom about our birthday. She simply told me not to worry, it was in 4 months, but I like to be prepared. I'm an over-thinker and a perfectionist, unlike laid-back, easy-going Blossom. We may be the mirror image of each other, but you'd be hard pressed to find a pair more different in personality. Our wavy black hair to our shoulders, our glossy hazel eyes, our slim frames and our freckled faces look the exact same, but if you want to tell us apart, it's not hard if you know how to. For instance, whilst I'm generally grinning cheekily, Blossom often has a dreamy expression plastered across her tan face. Also of one of us has a crop-top, ripped jeans and a bum bag, it's me. She once said she wouldn't be seen dead with a bump bag. She has a Summer look, loose, short-sleeved sunshine yellow top, denim skirt and sandals, and a Winter one, long-sleeved black top, plain blue leggings and hiking boots ( In Spring and Autumn, she wears the most weather-appropriate). Me? I'll wear pretty much anything. Dungarees, jeans, crop-top, frilly dress, you name it, I'd wear it ( on second thoughts, maybe not a frilly dress). Well just as I thought if couldn't get worse, mother forced me to wear - drumroll please. A frilly dress, the one thing I don't like to wear! Honestly, I think she hates me! Then she forced me to eat porridge ( my least favourite food, BTW ) before telling us to, ' Hop to it! Daisy, if you don't hurry, I'll ground you anyway!' Well, that was me told. If I'm grounded, I can't talk to Kaia, who happens to be my bestie, and trust me I need to talk to her. She provides a different perspective on everything there is in life. Her strawberry blonde hair - usually in pigtails- blue/green eyes, cherry lips and curvy build, she's awesome! The drive took about 15 minutes but it felt like 2 because of how much I was dreading Lexi's party. Blossom didn't even seem aware we were in the car and stayed completely silent. Stepping out of the car, I saw Mila for a second before she launched herself at me, laughing gleefully. Mila is 10 and is very bubbly and friendly, unlike her sister. "Hey, cuz!" I cheerfully greeted her. She beamed in response. Lexi pranced over, snatched her gift and flounced off again. Me and Mila went on a couple of rides. Our favourite, the only one I enjoyed was a swing ride called, 'Wild sea'. It was decorated with shells and wave patterns but I would only rate it 5/10; decent. Mila seemed bored too, but then she decided to join the group on a log flume. Personally, I detest water rides, so I stayed behind. It was only then I realised Blossom wasn't there. Hurriedly, I searched for her, slowly getting more frantic by the second. When I saw Blossom, I nearly fainted. She was... flying? "Blossom!?" I called out," What are you doing?"
So, this my pilot for a new series! Prompt from @CoolKitty602_alt on authors and artists unite. To review say in comments: What would you give it out of 10? Any ideas? What didn't you like? Why? Would you read more?
