~~~~***Chapter 2***~~~~~ Welcome To Hogwarts ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A loud shrill whistle blew through the air. Rose sat straight up, awakened immediately. She and Lily looked at each other groggily, they apparently had dozed off at some point. After a couple of minutes Rose realized with a gasp why the whistle had blown. Outside her window across a dark lake was a towering black castle glowing in the night. “ WERE HERE!” She screamed in excitement and shock. Lily squealed in delight with her. “ We're finally here!” They yelled in unison. The train slowly came to a stop and Rose and Lily made sure they had everything. They had their robes, wands, books, and bags, they were ready to go. The first years all made a line and gasped when a giant came out of nowhere and laughed a huge laugh with a happy smile. Rose and Lily shared big grins, so this was Hagrid, the friend and teacher that their parents had talked about. “ Firs’ years follow me!” He said in a loud deep voice. As they walked on Hagrid suddenly noticed Rose and Lily. For a moment Hagrid froze a little, then a wide smile spread across his face. “ Would tha’ be Hermione Granger and Lily Potter, or is that Rose Weasley and the li’l Lily Potter?” He asked with good spirit. Rose and Lily laughed. “ I’m Rose, and this is my cousin Lily! Our parents have told us about you!” Hagrid smiled. “ I’ll always remember the day I met Harry, Hermione, Ron, an’ Ginny. They ‘er always kind to me and they treated me like ther friend besides just their teacher. Tell em I say hi!” Rose and Lily smiled, they were about to go to Hogwarts and meet the people they had grown up hearing about. As they sat down into the boats, Rose and Lily could not believe what they were so close to doing. A girl and a boy sat in front of them. Rose and Lily smiled at them. “ I’m so excited for Hogwarts! My name is Rose Weasley, and this is my cousin Lily Potter. Who are you?” She asked them. The other kids' eyes widened. “ Lily Potter? As in Harry Potter’s daughter? And if you're Rose Weasley then you're his sister and brother-in-law's daughter!” The kids asked curiously. Lily nodded. “ Yes, that's who we are!” She said. The girl, who had long blond wavy hair, and very green eyes smiled widely. “ I’m Anne Williams, it's very nice to meet you!” She exclaimed. The boy who had brown smooth hair and lots of freckles smiled at them. “ I’m Henry Rowens. I’m excited for Hogwarts too!” He said. Rose felt happy to meet some other people who were just as excited as she was. Finally their boat stopped at the dock and they walked inside the building. It was a magnificent castle that was so mysterious Rose could hardly breath. A tall plump witch with rosy cheeks entered the room. “ Welcome to Hogwarts children! I am Professor Sprout the Herbology teacher! Please follow me to the great hall.” She exclaimed. Rose’s heart was beating with excitement and nervousness. They stood outside two large wooden doors, and Rose knew that they led to the great hall. Professor Sprout stood by the doors ready to swing them open. “ Make sure to try your best and hardest this year, Headmistress McGonagal is kind and fair, but you always want to get on her good side. Now, get ready for your year to begin!” Rose held her breath, was she really ready for this? Could she walk into those doors, the doors that opened to her future and her destiny? Was she ready to do the thing she had been waiting for for eleven long years? Rose pushed her doubts aside, and stood tall and determined. She was ready to walk into those doors, even if it was the doors to her future. She took a deep breath and stood in the front of the line, the first-year student to walk inside the Great Hall that night. ~~~~***Chapter 3***~~~~~ Through The Doors of Destiny ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ There was thunderous applause as all the first years walked into the great hall, and tremendous gasps when every first year saw the hall. It was grand, and big, with tables for each house. Banners of red, yellow, blue, and green were everywhere! But Rose’s favorite part was the ceiling, it had been enchanted to look just like the night sky. The first years made an alphabetical line, preparing to get sorted. Rose looked at the table at the front. Every teacher was sitting there, and in the very middle was Headmistress McGonagall. She smiled at all the first-year students who were eagerly waiting to be sorted. Everyone fell quiet as she stood up. “Welcome to Hogwarts children!” She exclaimed to them with a bright smile. "As you know, you will be having an exciting year and a wonderful time! I’m Professor McGonagall transfiguration teacher, head of Gryffindor, and Headmistress. I hope you know that you will not just be here to have fun, but also to learn to be a wizard and witch. Get your wands ready to practice for the rest of the year!” Everyone cheered loudly. “Before you can do that though, our new friends must get sorted.
So, it's my pleasure to say, let the sorting begin!” The crowd cheered wildly, and a short old teacher that had to be Professor Flitwick took a cover off the sorting hat. Rose tried to calm herself down and squeezed Lily’s hand reassuringly. The hat looked around, then started to sing. “Welcome students young and old, listen carefully to what you're told! It's time to sort and eat today, so let's start without delay! You could be Gryffindor brave and bold, or Slytherin. with a heart that's cold. Good Hufflepuff, with kindness and fun, it does not matter if you're old or young! How about Ravenclaw, with cleverness and wit? Or Gryffindor, a year you will never forget! There’s Slytherin for the ambitious and cool, but which one fits that is just for you? When your name is called to me, we will find out the house you will see. So, come together and prepare for some fun, it's sorting time for everyone!” The hat sang. Rose took a deep breath, it was time. Professor McGonagall began calling names and they got sorted. “Anne Williams.” She said, Anne nervously made her way to the hat and took a seat. It considered for a minute where she should go. “Hmm! Well, here is kindness and bravery. A hope to have fun with lots of friends, and a kind wish to help people in need. Well, let's see a good Hufflepuff maybe. But with all of that bravery and determination to help, I’m going to say GRYFFINDOR!” it shouted. The people cheered as she sat down at the red banner table. “Henry Rowen's.” Henry boldly made his way to the chair. The hat was deep in thought. “Well, kind with smarts. You're ready to protect the people you love whenever they need you. Some hope to show the world what you can do. Well, I’m going to say another GRYFFINDOR!” There was more cheering, and Henry flashed a bright smile at Rose, and she smiled back, she couldn’t help thinking that he was very handsome when he smiled. “Lily Potter.” Professor McGonagall raised her eyebrows at Lily, and Lily smiled and nodded. She cautiously walked up to the hat. As she sat down, the hat chuckled. “The last Potter kid is finally here! Well, let's see, a lot of bravery and sweetness, and gentleness too. Could be a great Hufflepuff, but that can't be right for you. You belong with your family, the most important thing to you. You're a GRYFFINDOR!” Lily squealed in delight and hugged Rose before running to sit at her table. “Rose Weasley.” Professor McGonagall smiled at Rose warmly. Rose sat down very anxiously, but she tried to be brave. “Yes, yes, yes, the newest Weasley. You’ve inherited smarts and bravery. Your kind and have might and will join the good fight. You want to help others in trouble or sadness. You are very kind, and ready to go. You are also undoubtedly GRYFFINDOR!” Rose felt happiness all over, she was going to be with Lily and her brothers! She happily ran to Lily’s table. “We're together!” “Peter Malfoy.” Professor McGonagall continued, raising an eyebrow. A boy with smooth white, blond hair walked up slowly. He looked a little frightened and tense when some people whispered about him. Rose knew he had to be Draco Malfoy’s son, but she knew that after all these years he had been very sorry about what he did to her family. They had forgiven him, and since then he had been much nicer. His son Peter looked very similar to his father, but he was different. Unlike how Draco had acted in school, Peter was kinder and was not mean at all. Rose had met him before, and they were friends, just not the closest. Rose knew he was expecting to be a Slytherin, just as the rest of his family had. “Hmm, this will take a minute to choose.” The hat said deep in thought. “While you are from a family with a not-so-great past, your heart is pure and ready to learn. You struggle trying to believe in yourself, but you're determined to prove that you can be good. You might make a good Slytherin like the others in your family, or perhaps something for the kinder of heart. I’m going to say…” Rose and Peter held their breath at the same time. “HUFFLEPUFF!” Peter cheered louder and happier than ever. Rose smiled, happy that everyone was happy. “ Malifa Greggory.” A tall skinny and pale girl walked over. Her eyes were a dark mossy green, and her hair was very dark brown. It was straight and did not have a lock out of place, her lips were a deep scarlet, but they did not smile as she walked to the hat. She had not a single freckle and she walked properly and proudly. Her face had some pride and some annoyance. Before putting the hat on she took a step back and looked at it with disgust. “Are you really making me wear that? It's dusty and gross and think of all the germs it could have on it!” She rudely exclaimed. Professor McGonagall gave her a stern glare, and was about to put it on her when it instantly said, “From what I can tell, with pride and desire, you are definitely SLYTHERIN!” There was cheering in the Slytherin table, and Malifa smugly walked there.
