Chapter 12 - A Fox Gone Wild Echodawn almost dies falling in the river, trying to save Lemon, and both of them are saved by Lilac. Bloomingpaw’s coat is quickly and noticeably becoming shorter and shorter, which isnt good considering the coming leaf-bare. Mudpaw was walking by the apprentice den, seeing bloomingpaw shivering. Being the adorable fox he is, he came up and laid beside bloomingpaw, warming her with his thick fur. On the hunting patrol with Foxpaw the next day, Ruby ambushes Bloomingpaw’s patrol, attacking Mudpaw with Bloomingpaw saving him, until she is knocked away and almost dies. Ruby runs off, and Mudsplash made a little crow friend. Meanwhile, in Smoke’s group, now much bigger, Phantom and Rocky are made full outcasts, with the names of Phantom Striker and Rocky outcrop. Ruby, jealous, killed the brother of two trainees in Smokes group, and became Sparkling Ruby. One of the two trainees, Thorn, was previously training with Rocky until she built up the courage to speak with Smoke, and is made healer of his group. Rocky is enraged, and he leaves camp. Phantom follows him, and sees Rocky hugging Heronswoop. Phantom Striker races off, falling into the river before being saved by Rocky, who basically shatters his paw. So both Rocky and Phantom hate eachother, and Creamstar loses her first life to rouges (foreshadowing hahahhhh). Rocky still genuinely cares about phantom, so when both he and Phantom Striker are mocked by some other outcasts, Rocky goes full fox and attacks everyone, except for Phantom. Rocky runs away, falling into the river. He hallucinates, seeing memories of Phantom Striker and himself, until he is rescued by Phantom. The two confess to one another, and Phantom comforts Rocky when his leg has to be amputated, the fox thinking that he won’t be of any use anymore. End Chapter 12
