[click on the right/left sides of the screen to switch] ...hopefully this counts as recognisable? :,) there will be a more design-accurate drawing later i swear! it's just that i wanted to attempt a more realistic style and had to switch up a few things :> <>-<>-<>-<>-<> ENTRY full-size artwork: https://imgur.com/a/FWrvRqq I haven't painted in forever T_T It was fun doing the brush strokes and lighting though! 1. Final adjustments + signature <>-<>-<>-<>-<> BIO Nerissa || she/her || shapeshifter Nerissa is an underwater cave system - quite literally. The personification of a group of interconnected pools and subterranean caves, she finds her home in the darkest and most secluded parts of the forest. Rumour has it that her waters hold the secret to eternal life, and it is doubtlessly certain that she did, once, possess the power of youth and restoration; centuries of thick growth and a growing labyrinth of trees and undergrowth around her has done their work, however, and her pools now are home only to sirens and wandering ghosts. This of course does not stop the occasional adventurer from setting off on a quest to find her, though admittedly all the adventurers mentioned did not live long after their discovery of the place. Mostly due to the sirens. <>-<>-<>-<>-<> The part where I go crazy FUWYLUWLGUPLgupyflguyfplg okay so. background information. nerissa, if I win her, will become part of evensol, my main universe for the last two years. scratch has a project desc character limit so i can't copy-paste everything i have on the world here, but if you're interested, have some links >:) https://plethora-of-fantasy.fandom.com/wiki/Evensol - the entire world https://plethora-of-fantasy.fandom.com/wiki/Category:Evensol - everything i have written on the universe (the page lengths add up to over 40k words i think) https://public.flourish.studio/visualisation/17608887/ - character relationship chart i made, just because nearly all of my personal art (apart from art studies) centres on this world. most of these aren't posted anywhere seeing as i rarely progress beyond a sketch when i'm not making art for someone else or entering a contest, but yeah, they live in my headspace and i don't think i've ever spent a waking hour without thinking of them. even when i'm sitting through my finals (cough). i also have as many characters that i can make refs of in my artfight, so that's something i'm excited for as well :D personifications on evensol are, essentially, spirits (imagine nymphs and dryads, but not just for water and trees). they rely on collective belief to exist. when people believe or think that natural things have a soul to them, such as poets saying that the moon "swept her dress across the land", personifications exist. most of them appear somewhat stereotypical too, since they are exactly what the majority of humans around would assume what they look like. each is the "soul" of their dominion, and they tend to live for quite a long time, until they are either killed off while in coporeal shape or have their realm destroyed. nerissa... how should i start? like all other personifications, she is a shapeshifter who primarily presents herself in the forms that most people imagine her as - the evensol moon appears as a white wolf, trikala the forest goes around mostly as a sparrow, chipmunk, tiger, or cat, and nerissa prefers herself mostly as a fox or siren. in her human form, nerissa dresses herself in a ruffeled shirt and tight black trousers (early 19th century dandy fashion, masculine leaning; i'm a huge fan of 18th - 19th century european clothing :D), complete with cravat and flowing black cloak. (so the cloak parts of the original design goes to her human form and the fur patterns remain feral) backstory later <3 i plan to also make an animatic about it, we'll see! <>-<>-<>-<>-<> CREDITS Art programme: Procreate Art: Design: the incredible Music: "The Ghost Who Is Still Alive" by Beth Crowley
