A working text converter for your Ti-84 Plus CE!!! !!!IMPORTANT!!! READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS!!! TUT0RIAL: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1007827827/ If you need any help PLEASE ask me in the comments. You need a Ti-84 Plus CE calculator to run this. ----------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Start the Project 2. Enter the text you want to view one your calculator (Make sure it does not contain the characters: * & ^ % $ # @ { } [ ] | " ') and (Text should be pretty long, but it does not matter that much) 3. Press "See inside" button and right click the Converted List that will show on the screen. Press export and it will make a .txt with your code in it. 4. Open Ti-Connect CE Software (Download it if you do not have it) https://education.ti.com/en/products/computer-software/ti-connect-ce-sw 5. Go to the program editor and click "New Program". 6. Copy and paste the code from the .txt file into the program editor, name it and save it to your computer as an .8xp file. 7. Connect your calculator to your computer. 8. Click on your calculator on Ti-Connect CE and it will show all the files on your calculator. 9. Click the send to calculator button, browse your files for the .8xp program you made and send it to your calculator. 10. Disconnect your calculator from your computer and then turn it on. 11. Once turned on, navigate the keypad on the calculator to the "prgm" button, and click it. 12. Scroll the list of programs until you find your text program you named. 13. Run the program, and it will show the error "Check all argumments entered." (This is because a character could not be copied into scratch and is only on the Ti-84 Plus CE itself) 14. Press the down arrow and select "Goto" by pressing "enter". 15. It should bring you to this "If A<-(number)" and be highlighting the "-" character. Change the "-" to the "-" on the calculator. (right next to the "enter" and "." on the calculator keyboard) 16. Press the down arrow and navigate to the next "-" and do the same thing for that one too. 17. Exit by pressing the blue "2nd" key and then the "mode" key right next to it. 18. Go to your program list again by pressing. the "prgm" button and run the program again. 19. It should run and YOU CAN READ THE TEXT FINALLY!!! 20. On calculator use the up arrow and down arrow to navigate your text. ----------------------------------------------------------------- I am so sorry if this does not help, it is confusing. Ask me questions in the comments, I will try to answer them. You can speed up the scrolling by changing the value that the variable in the TI-BASIC program (A) changes. That might sound confusing, but right now it only changes by 1 so going to the two lines A+1->A and the line A-1->A you can change it by changing the 1's to like 2 or 3. That probably did not make sense, but it is hard to explain :( !!!YOU CAN CHANGE IT IN THE SCRIPT BEFORE YOU EXPORT IT, JUST LOOK AT THE NOTES IN THE BACKDROP CODE!!!
This will convert text into a Ti-BASIC program you can run on your Ti-84 Plus CE and read almost any length of text. Enjoy reading books from your calculator. ----------------Remix with your own text-------------------- !!!This only works on a Ti-84 Plus CE/CSE!!! 100% ME!!! I thought of this idea the other day and wanted to make it a reality. Thanks to my family for support and interest in this project. I want to give a shoutout to my friend @Wintercop for always liking and being amazed with my projects :D -On calculator use the up arrow and down arrow to navigate your text. Check out more projects for the calculator at my other account: @Ti-84_Plus_CE Enjoy!!! Zytue67
