About the carrier: Yankee Airlines is a small charter-airline that started operations in on the July of 1927, with our first flight from the San Francisco International Airport, to the Oakland International Airport with a Ford Trimotor that was built in 1926 in America. On the April 21st, of 1929, we had our first major crash, with 13 deaths on board a DC-2. After about 20 years, or fleet expanded to 15 aircraft by 1949, and would continue to improve over the next couple of decades. At this point, our airline was operating 1 DC-2, 1 DC 4, 10 DC-3's, and 3 Martin 202's as well. By the 50s, we had had 3 fatal incidents, with a total of 81 deaths in all. In 1965, we got our first jet powered aircraft that was a 737-200 nicknamed 'Yankee Doddle', with the registration of N732YA. By 1975, we had 23 jets, and 10 prop Engine aircraft. 1992 was the worst year for us, with our most fatal crash featuring a 737-500 with the registration of N917YA, that crashed short of a runway in New York; ending the lives of 71 people. We now operate a total of 43 planes and are one of the best charter airlines today. Join our studio now and help others all around the world!
