My first entry for Lochness! I love the design so bad ahhhh -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- l-STORY-l Loch Ness was not always Loch Ness. Her name was Lavender. She lived with her mother and father in a little house by the ocean side. Having no brothers or sisters, she instead had a best friend, Maple. They were inseparable. Maple was the lively, mischievous one, while Lavender was the more reserved, sensible one. Despite their differences, they were the perfect match. Every day they spent together, splashing in the water or playing tag on the beach, and they came home to nights of fort making and story telling. There was just one problem with their perfect life... Lavender suffered from severe anxiety. She worried about everything much more than needed. She would often cry even in the most fun situations, because of her constant fear of the future. Her heart and mind hurt wildly when something bad happened. She wished this pain would all go away, and she could live a normal life... The two things Lavender loved as much as Maple was the night, and the ocean. When she couldn't sleep, she found comfort in sitting with Maple on the porch, taking in the beautiful starry sky and small ripples in the water. "Hey Lav," Maple said in between a yawn. "I'm getting pretty tired." She got up and stretched. "I'm gonna head inside. You coming?" "Yeah, of course." Lavender replied quickly. She was NOT about to stay outside alone. Maple giggled at Lavender's worried face and rushed inside. "Hey, wait up!" Lavender cried. She reached for the doorknob. Suddenly, something pulled her back. It covered her mouth and brought her to the back of the house. Lavender let out a muffled cry. "Shh..." The kidnapper whispered. Lavender immediately shut her mouth tight. Something about his voice, smooth and silky, made her feel safe and unharmed. Lavender felt something she'd never felt before... no fear. She wanted more of that. "I know you...Lavender. You want security... I can give you security.. I just need you to do one thing for me..." At this point Lavender would do anything for this feeling. "I'll do anything, anything!" she gasped. The hooded cat smiled slyly. "You see... I'm looking for this cat named Maple..." The next day passed by quickly. Lavender and Maple were playing hopscotch by the pier. The evening light was slowly fading away. "Lavender has been looking more solemn and distracted than usual." Maple thought suspiciously. She shrugged the thought off though, and instead focused on jumping the squares. She jumped on the last square, close to the pier's edge, which gave a beautiful view of the vast ocean. Maple quickly turned around to call Lavender, and was surprised to see her face right in front of her. Lavender's eyes were filled with an unusual ferocity, and the intensity of her gaze caused her to stutter. "L-Lav? Are you ok?" Lavender's mouth curled into a wide, terrible smile. Maple was worried now. "Lav, what's wrong-" Maple felt Lavender's once gentle paws forcefully push her back. Maple lost her footing and her weight pulled her down as she fell off the pier. The wind whistled in her ears. Maple glimpsed a hooded figure behind Lavender, but thought nothing of him. Her eyes were fixed on the smiling Lavender, her eyes wide, with no trace of empathy. Tears flew from her eye as she hit the water at full force. Maple whispered. "Oh Lav..." Lavender grinned as Maple, her best friend, the one cat she trusted and loved more than anyone, fell beneath the water. She stared for a long time. Still grinning, she turned to the hooded figure. "Now, my payment?" Lavender said eagerly. The hooded figure looked at her. And laughed. And laughed. "You foolish cat!" he screamed. "What..?" Lavender croaked. "There is no payment! You just pushed your friend off a pier! You're helpless." The hooded figure removed his hood, revealing a brute of a cat. "I love messing with cats..." he whispered. He kicked Lavender off the pier, still laughing. Everything came back to Lavender, and she started crying her heart out as she fell. "I'm sorry Maple!" she screamed. "I'm so, so sorry..." Lavender never forgave herself for her actions. She reincarnated as the Loch Ness monster. She came to the same pier of her past life and dug a massive hole next to her beloved Maple's resting place. She sat in that hole and cried and cried, filling the lake. She lived in that lake for the rest of her time, never leaving Maple's side.... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- l-THE END-l
