something has been brought to my attention people with main character energy have exude *confidence* but there's a difference between confidence and ego ➼IF you have a big ego you'll always want to be the center of attention, you think that everyone has to focus on you 24/7. ego is an inflated sense of self-importance or superiority that leads to an arrogant personality. it leads to excessive focus on oneself at the expense of others, a reluctance to acknowledge one's faults or mistakes, and a constant need for validation and admiration from others. egoistic people may prioritize their own needs and desires above those of others, leading to a lack of empathy and consideration for others' feelings. this will result in strained relationships, conflicts, and a narrow-minded approach to life that inhibits personal growth and genuine connection with others. but confidence hits different when they are confident they are comfortable with the person they are & they don't need validation from other people. it is a positive belief in themself and their abilities. it has a strong sense of self-assurance, self-esteem, and self-reliance. they trust in their own judgment, skills, and capabilities, allowing them to approach challenges with optimism and determination. having a realistic understanding of your strengths and weaknesses, yet maintaining a belief in their ability to overcome obstacles and achieve their goals, a willingness to take risks, and an openness to learning and growth, enables individuals to navigate life's ups and downs with resilience and grace, fostering a sense of empowerment and fulfillment. ➼ ego is fragile because the moment someone critizes them their ego is easily shattered, and they become defensive. Having a big ego, they'll always compare themself with other people but confidence focuses on personal growth and maturity. coz you know that there is someone out there that will be better than you but you are at peace w that fact because you already feel like you are enough and you know that you are not in competition with anyone else so you're only hyper focused on reaching your own goals. and creating a dream life for you and only YOU. ➼lastly, ego resists feedback. ego will always feel like "I am right" or "everyone is worse" or "haha they don't know what they're talking about" while confidence embraces constructive critism coz they know that they aren't always right. an egoistic person typically resists feedback by exhibiting defensive behaviors and reactions. when faced with constructive criticism or suggestions for improvement, they may become dismissive or argumentative, refusing to acknowledge any validity in the feedback. they might resort to deflecting blame onto others or making excuses for their actions rather than accepting responsibility. ego-driven individuals often perceive feedback as a threat to their self-image or superiority, causing them to feel vulnerable or insecure. they may react with hostility or defensiveness, shutting down any opportunity for genuine reflection or growth. their ego prevents them from humbly considering feedback as a means for personal development, leading to a cycle of resistance to change. its ok to have your own beliefs and thoughts, but keeping an open mind goes a long way
