Angela Dark I was doing homework, (getting frustrated at it and yelling “Come on!” at it more like) when everything- my walls, my ceiling, even my cat, Jasper, disappeared into thin air. “Jasper!” I shouted, then apparently decided I had more problems then my missing feline friend. “Where am I?” There was a woosh of air and a voice like the evening sky said, “This is the land of spectors. Ancient Elders dwell here. You are far from home, Angela Dark.” “Where am I?” I asked. I paused for a moment. “And where’s my cat?” There was silence for a moment. Then a woman who was almost transparent appeared. She smiled. “My, you’re full of questions. Jack! Melissa! Marcus! Come meet our new arrival!” After a second, a girl appeared. Like the woman, she was almost transparent. The woman, whose name turned out to be Jane, frowned. “Melissa! Where’s your brothers?” Melissa shrugged. “Probably talking with Celse and Kayla.” Jane’s frown turned darker. “Celse and Kayla are pure-bred humans! What do they think they’re doing?” Melissa shrugged, apparently uninterested. “They're just having fun, Mom. Let it go.” Jane sighed. “I’d better go discipline them. Melissa, could you give Angela a tour and explain everything? I can’t stick around.” Melissa smiled. “Sure, Mom. Come on, Angela.” I followed Melissa though clouds of dense fog that coated my arms in wet dew. “W-where are w-we g-going?” I asked, shivering. It was cold, and I hadn't been wearing a coat when I was transported here. “Spector City. I’ll explain when we get there. Now, what were you doing when the spell transported you here?” I was about to say magic wasn’t real, but I was here, so there must be some kind of magic. “Homework.” I replied. “No, no. I mean what did you say before you got transported here.” I nodded. “Makes sense.” I said, even though it didn’t. “But I don’t think I said Anything. I mean, I yelled ‘come on’ but that’s hardly what you mean.” She nodded. “Actually, that’s exactly what I mean. Yell ‘Come on’ again.” I shrugged. “O.K. COME ON!” I yelled. A strange voice answered, “You called me?” I turned to Melissa. “Explanation. Now.”
