“The Sheikah have have worked from the shadows to support Hyrule’s royal family since the ERA OF MYTH” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ BOTW ancient song, second verse: “But Ganon lurked beneath the surface, strengthening its jaws, so the ancient people of Hyrule set out to help the cause.” Ganon lurking beneath the surface, TOTK. So other people besides the king knew about Ganondorf’s corpse? Was the intention all along to defeat HIM? The song continues to read about the divine beasts being created. By who? The Sheikah. Another quote from a Zelda book (I think the BOTW creating a champion book) states “the Sheikah’s original purpose was so deeply ingrained that the Sheikah continued the mission entrusted to them to the, so long ago even after their expulsion from the capitol.” So they had another motive? Even after the original Zelda was safe, their mission complete, they had a motive to keep going. What was it? Well, they knew Ganondorf’s corpse was under the castle. (Proof later on) So did the king, as I mentioned in the first part. Or Zelda mentioned, more like. So what else must they know about, then? The murals. Which somebody had to cover. The funny thing is, the doorway to where Ganondorf was had been covered up by someone too. Having known about the corpse, the Sheikah knew Zelda would never be safe. She would always need protected. This is why Zelda’s father also warned her never to go down there. I wouldn’t be surprised if they Sheikah drew the geoglpyhs and created the room at the back of the forgotten temple, because Impa states that someone else must have touched Zelda’s tears and witnessed visions like Link did. She seemed to know something. It’s maybe worth mentioning that she is also a Sheikah. This might not mean much, though.
I next tried to decode the ancient song, part two. Or the important parts anyway. Here’s the relevant bits: “But Ganon lurked beneath the surface, strengthening its jaws. So the ancient people of Hyrule set out to help the cause. Their efforts bore fruits in an automated force, to help avert the calamity be sealing it at its source. Four giant behemoths for which power never ceased, each of these titans was called a divine beast.” Ganon lurking beneath the surface is referring to the corpse that Link and Zelda found under Hyrule castle in TOTK. A stone under Hyrule castle which can be found and read in the game states the og Hyrule Castle was built on top of his corpse to keep it sealed. The ancient people of Hyrule might be referring to Rauru and Sonia’s time (remember this, it’s important for later) and it stated to help the cause, they had to avert the calamity be sealing it at its SOURCE. Which is under the castle. In the game’s files the point sealing Ganondorf down is referred to as something along the lines of “sealing point.” Thanks to MonsterMaze or Zeltik on YouTube for this info. It then mentions the Divine Beasts, which we are all aware is made by the Sheikah. There’s also statements in the BOTW creating a champion book reading about Sheikah ancient energy being found in an abundance under Hyrule castle, this same energy powered the Sheikah technology. So then, the og purpose was not only to defeat the calamity above ground, but Ganondorf under the ground. Earlier I mentioned the Era of Myth, and I still wasn’t sure when this was. This is kind of an add on theory, and is not too important and is likely to not be correct, but I’ll add it on anyway. I think it was the Hyrule Histora I was reading when I saw a part talking about The Era of Myth, and how back then it was the Hyrulean (I think that’s the spelling??) Royal family. Not Hylian, but Hyrulean. And when you are unable to read the fallen flower islands in the game, they read “this is etched with ancient Hyrulean text. You cannot read it.” The structure looks like it could be from Rauru and Sonia’s time. Funny this, the only person referred to as Hyrulean is Sonia, when Ganondorf mocks Rauru about taking a Hyrulean woman as his wife. Just a theory (I guess that’s what us Zelda theorists are all about!) but if that was the era of myth, and the Sheikah did start protecting Zelda from the moment she travelled back in time, they would have to have a motive. Hence why the Sheikah logo is the dragon eye, with a tear falling from it. What might they have witnessed that caused them to continue their mission…?
