wɛlkəm! hɛlo! thanks for checking out my app — unfortunately, the answers are all scattered with my linguistics notes about the international phonetic alphabet. i gotta go chase down some soup, but the files should be labelled… phonetically. you’ll figure it out, i’m sure! have fun :D tɛkst onli — https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/post/7979447/ (1661 words total) "dɪskleməɹ" (note about transcriptions) i have never taken a phonology or phonetics class and i did this transcriptions somewhat unseriously and quickly — so there’re bound to be some silly mistakes. a main one being i didn’t mark syllables because. i didn’t feel like it. lol. also i didn’t feel like labelling aspirated consonants because in english they’re allophones and i have a difficult time hearing them. the other thing is i didn’t label is syllabic consonants because i think schwas look cooler :) these transcriptions are based on my pronunciation, which generally matches standard american english with a slight lean towards a southern accent (mostly displayed in my having the pin-pen merger where /ɛ/ is /ɪ/ before nasals.) kɹɛdɪts + all art, writing, and code by me @opheliio + most graphics created by me in canva + thanks to all previous swc (co)hosts and all previous leaders, cos, and campers for making it what it is today + thanks to luna, moonlit, moss, robin, and sun for hosting this session :D happy app season and best of luck to all applicants <33
