He has mousy brown-ish hair that could almost pass for an orangey colour, and it's long enough to be tied back in a small puff of a ponytail - though he often wears it down or in a messy bun on his head. Jan's eyes are a soft brown, filled with warmth and excitement when he talks about his passions. He has a small dot nose and naturally flushed cheeks. He can often be seen wearing stud earrings that connect to a cuff on the top of his pointed ears, and he occasionally wears a locket round his neck. For everyday wear, Jan is most comfortable in hand-crocheted sweaters that he makes himself, casual cream trousers, and leather slippers. He may also be found in a long turtleneck sweater dress with fishnets underneath. (or see project) ] [ Personality: Jan is soft spoken and well-educated. He'd loved reading since he was extremely young and would stay inside instead of playing with kids his age. He has a very low tolerance for improperly educated people and, when frustrated, has been known to leave in the middle of conversations and lock himself in his room. He can be a bit bossy but in a whole-hearted, almost shy way. He follows instructions well but doesn't do good with criticism, as anything negative said about him is taken as a direct insult. ] [ Likes: Reading, crocheting, playing the miniature harp, cozy nooks, fireplaces, learning new things ] [ Dislikes: Being out of his comfort zone, loud noises, large gatherings, improper grammar, stubborn people ] [ Backstory: Jan's father is a mystery to him; he left one day when Jan was three and never returned. Jan lived a simple life with him, his mother, and his younger sister (second picture). However, just after Jan's 18th birthday, their mother tragically passed, leaving the bookshop to Jan. He has done his absolute best to keep the shop the way his mother had it, to honor her memory. ]
[ Second Picture (click) ] [ Name: Juniper Calla Linden (goes by Pipe and ONLY Pipe) ] [ Age: 16 ] [ Gender: AFAB (Assigned Female at Birth) demigirl, she/they ] [ Sexuality: Asexual ] [ Role: Apprentice (bookshop) ] [ Power: Pipe basically has enhanced physical abilities, meaning she can run for a long time, breathe underwater longer than normal, etc. They can't, however, do anything special, like fly or run in super-speed. ] [ Appearance: Pipe, unlike her elder brother, spends most of her time outdoors. Because of this, her fair skin is toned with a bronze shine. She is almost the same height as Jan, though she has a more athletic build. Her eyes are a seafoam blue, and Jan always told her they looked like little chips of seaglass. Pipe has a scattering of freckles across her nose, up her neck, and basically everywhere else on her face. They have soft, girlish features which they hate, and thin, naturally-arching eyebrows. Their hair is a darker shade of brown than Jan's, though time in the sun has given it natural streaks of blonde. It falls just to Pipe's collarbone, though they never, EVER have it down. Too annoying. Pipe sticks to comfortable, breathable wear, such as simple cotton tunics, trousers, and boots. She's never been interested in fashion or her appearance and basically wears whatever Jan bothers to give her. (or see project) ] [ Personality: Pipe is...a handful. The day she learned she'd be forever trapped in the confines of a bookshop was the most tragic day of her life. Pipe loves everything adventure, danger, adrenaline...which are things unavailable in a musty old library. They begged Jan to let them apprentice at the local blacksmith's shop, but Jan refused. So now Pipe complains. A lot. She's moody, easily bored, and loud. She loves annoying her brother - which isn't hard for her to accomplish - and is the definition of "bouncing off the walls". They can be whiny and taken as unappreciative and selfish, which isn't entirely wrong.
