I've seen a lot of people asking for advice on this recently, so I'm making a project for simplicity's sake. 1. Make sure you GENUINELY LIKE YOUR PLOT. Like, if you write it out and are like "meh" and don't love your characters or plot, CHANGE IT UPPP. It helps a lot with motivation if you're drawing guys you like, and a story you like too!! 2. Make sure you're doing your comic because you want to. Not because someone else wanted you to or you want clout or whatever. Do your comic for YOU. 3. Make your characters distinct and recognizable! This helps your comic stand out from others. If your protag is just a brown cat, or some blonde boy, it's gonna be way harder to recognize than Perfectheart (From @9Rainbowtails's comic), or Randy (from @doodlebugadoo's comic). Give 'em something distinct, such as Randy's silly teeth or Perfectpaw's perfect split. 4. Pace yourself. Don't try to pump out too many chapters in too short a time. It makes it hard to want to keep working on it. 5. Write out the plot. GUYS. Write it out, it helps so much. Even if you just do big plot points, it helps with the pacing of the comic, and helps avoid unnecessary filler content. 6. Take breaks if you need them 7. IGNORE THE HATERS. It can be hard, but if you have people to back you it's less bad. People can suck, but what they say doesn't matter. If you like it, then it's doing what it's supposed to. It's making YOU happy. 8. Don't build a bad reputation for yourself. Don't be a jerk. Be cool, and more people will like you and your content. 9. Find a style that works for you. This could be fully colored/shaded work, or just a simple sketch comic. Whatever YOU like best, and whatever is most fun/easy for you. 10. IDK WHAT ELSE UMM HAVE FUN?? Okay, I hope this helps!!
