== @nxbara: == i have fallen for this lovely, lovely little bean “it’s literally too pure. rip me” —narumi Anime/Manga: Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii (love is hard for otaku) ============ ‘ADHD extrovert x Anxiety introvert’ *took inspo from kou sakuragi. she doesn’t appear here* You knew him as Nao-chan. Ever since grade school, you two were inseperable. Until he moved away, and you’d never saw him again. You were sad. You liked Naoya, as a best friend and as a person. But… you weren’t exactly sure that Naoya liked you. He was always friendly and sociable to everyone, not just you. Until you started as a university student, and you had to move to Kanagawa, Tokyo. You were in Starbucks, ordering a simple strawberry sakura latte. You sat down with your books, looked at them, organized your table, and got to work. You wondered about what job you should have for now- should you work at Starbucks? Get a part-time in a 7-Eleven? Or maybe you should work as an assistant to a mangaka. After all, that’s what you were pursuing.. But your mind somehow wondered to Naoya. What was he doing? What was he taking? Where.. where was Naoya..? “Excuse me,” a light, kind voice said. “Umm.. Miss Yuuki-san? Your latte was called.” You looked up, your face pale. You had seriously forgot about your latte? How embarrassing, this guy must be so mad, and— “Oh,” he exclaimed, his eyes widening. “Yuu-chan..?” “Nao?” you whispered, your face turning white. Your initial reaction was something like, ‘OHMYGODIT’SNAOWHATISHEDOINGHEREDOESHEHATEMEI’MSOSCAREDOHMYGOSH’. Naoya looked at you, grinning. He had blonde hair now.. a nice look on— wait wait, you were getting ahead of yourself! He asked you a question! “Uh- uh- uh,” you stuttered, sweating from nervousness. “Y-yeah, it’s me- um.. N-Nao-chan..?” Oh my gosh, what if he got called by a different name now?! How embarrassing! “Wow! It’s been a while!” Naoya said, beaming. He grabbed your hands excitedly, his smile bright. You turned red with embarrasment, eyes darting around at the people (who weren’t paying any attention to you two). “Um- yeah- uh huh!” you mumbled, eyes looking downwards. Naoya simply grinned and smiled that smile that you had come to love and long to see every day.
“So what have you been up to, Yuu-chan?” Naoya asked, sitting across from you. ACROSS FROM YOU-!? Here was the childhood best friend you longed to see for who knows how long, right. Here. “Umm— nothing much, I mean, I’m studying at a university, and I- uh—..” you murmured, trailing off. You thought you looked so pathetic, compared to Naoya, who literally had a job. You had.. well, your art skills. “Cool! Are you still drawing those cool pictures?” He leaned over, getting close to her face to peer at her book. “Umm!! Yeah!” you answered, face red yet again from being flustered and embarrassed. You handed your sketchbook to Naoya, avoiding his gaze the entire time. “Waa~ These are so amazing, Yuu-chan!!!” Naoya said after a while, eyes wide and a big grin plastered on his face. “You should become a mangaka!” You turned red at the compliment, gaze directed downwards. “No way, I could never— I mean, no, thank you, but— it’s just not good enough..” you mumbled. Naoya’s eyebrows furrowed and he touched your chin lightly to make you look up at him. You were quite surprised by this. Then Naoya frowned. It was a rare look on the usually beaming, golden retriever boy. “Stop talking down about yourself, Yuu-chan!” Naoya said, his voice raised just a tiny bit. He was serious. “I don’t like it!” Your eyes widened, face pale, but it reverted back to normal slowly. “..O-okay, sorry.. Nao-chan..” you said softly, your eyes now locked on his. Naoya looked into your eyes, searching to see if you were being genuine, and nodded in approval. “Alright. Wanna exchange our LINES?” he asked, back to cheery and smiley. //Note: LINE is a popular messaging system in Japan.// He took out his phone. “Uh— yeah, sure!” you rushed, taking out your phone as well. You exchanged the numbers and Naoya grinned. “Can’t wait to catch up with you!” And that was the start of you and your childhood friend’s newfound relationship. ~End ((lmk if i should write more))~
