Second Chances 1.1 Amy woke up in a dark place. She only felt cold underneath her, and the shroud was immense. She could see nothing. No light, and no contrast, except for the hard stone floor. She called out to it, but her voice was drowned out. She began to get worried, standing up and beginning to walk down the road, still trying to call out. Amy then heard a voice. "Amelia," It said, dark and harshed. Cold, sharp air then began to flow through, and a dark figure emerged, dark smoke billowing from around it, and it towered, and Amy could feel it staring at her. "Amelia," it said again, louder this time. "Turn around. You do not belong here." Amy hesitated, wanting to, but frozen in fear. The figure then stretched out a hand, and pushed her, but Amy didn't fall. The figure, and the road flew out, and were gone. Amy turned around, and light filled her vision. Immediate warmth heated Amelia up from the cold. Once her vision cleared, she saw clouds everywhere, and a big, golden gate with intricate patterns on it. Many people were coming to this gate, all looking lost and afraid. Except for one, and that one happened to be running towards the hedgehog, a worried expression on her face. "Amelia! What are you doing here?" She said, taking Amy's hands, her expression ever distressed. She was a dog, but a mix- Golden fur, slight cream, with a fluffy tail and erect, but gentle, ears. Her eyes were very pretty blue, and they sparkled with worry. She wore a white dress that flowed to the ground, and her look was topped off with a flower crown. Amy just blinked, confused, and stammering. "H...How do you know my name? Who are you? Where am I?" Amy blurted, eyes darting around for any sign of where she was. The dog sighed, let go of Amy's hands and brushed her dress off. "I apologize." She said, her voice light and clear, very gentle. She smiled at Amy. "They call me Arella. I am the keeper of the Gate of the Great Fish." She went into a curtsy and then once straightening closed her eyes in a small grin. "I am your Guardian Angel," Amy's eyes widened, gaping. "My guardian angel?" She said, pointing a finger hesitantly towards the dog. Arella nodded, and then looked anxious again. "But all of this does not matter," She gestured around her. "What are you doing here? I do not recall you passing through the veil, hm?" She put a warm hand on my forehead. "Do you remember the Great Fish? Anything at all?" Amy shook her head quickly. "n-n-no, nothing at all. Is he important?" Arella's eyes widened, and then she turned around, rubbing her chin quizzically. "How on the waiting realm-?" Her eyes widened, and she spun around again. "Ameilia," She cried. "Amy," The hedgehog responded. Arella raised an eyebrow, but then shook it off. She took Amy's hands again, and then started muttering something. "What are you doing?" Amy asked as features on both characters started to glow. "I am sending you back," Arella said. "You were not meant to die today." Then with a whooshing sound, bright light boomed from the dog and spread into Amy's vision, blinding her. ***
When Amy had woken up, She felt different. She was no longer in the clouds, and was laying on a bed in a new room unfamiliar to her. Her vision started to clear, and she sat up, rubbing her forehead. "Whuh-?" She managed to say, but her words were slurred. Her voice was different. Amy started to panic, and then tried to jump off the bed, but she fell over, still wobbly. She barely caught herself, but then a hand reached down to help her up. "I apologize again," Said the voice of the angel. "Let me explain." She tried helping Amy up, but her look had caught to the tall mirror beside her. Amy's eyes were wide. Her lovely pink color had darkened, quills longer, and slightly more wavy. Arella sighed, and then kneeled next to Amy. "I have brought you back," the dog said, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. "However, I have needed to change you. Your friends cannot know," Amy jerked her head towards Arella. She looked like she was about to cry. "But why? I love my friends-" The dog put up a hand for Amy to stop talking. "Hush, dear, do not worry. You can still be friends with them. You just have to do it as a new being. Different than Amy Rose. At least for now." Amy just sat there with her mouth slightly ajar. "As a new....Being?" "Yes. I have even tried to change your interests a little. Let's see. You do need a new name though. What do you think? It can be similar to Amelia Rose, if you want. It's up to you." Amy sat up into criss-cross applesauce and then thought for a minute. Her name but not. Amy then thought of something, but then wrinkled her face. The name she thought of was kind of ugly, in her opinion. Arella smiled. "It's a quite lovely name, Amelia," Amy raised an eyebrow for two different reasons: One: Arella had just read her mind. Two: She was surprised that the angel thought that name was pretty. Amy tried saying it. "Amanda Ross," She said, as Arella smiled. “It’s perfect,” Amy thought as she stood up, trying to look confident in the mirror. It was kind of hard when she was wearing a nightgown. Amy sighed, and then turned to face Arella. “One more question,” She said. “How long exactly has it been since I died?” Arella had a kind of “haha, well-” Sort of look on her face. “One year, two minutes and thirty seconds,” Amy gasped. “Oh, no”
