disclaimer! i am UPSET but not crying-upset. i am more mad about this and it may seem rude but i find it a little funny.
okay how do i explain this. basically for mean girls our cady was REALLY BAD. our original cady (my best friend :muscle) switched positions with our new one because the new cady used to be director. so my best friend was now the director and the director was now cady. got it?? well our cady was actually sucked. she was incredibly rude and entitled, yelled at people a LOT, added in a whole monologue about her pet snake, changed ONSTAGE, etc etc. she was also very rude to me when she was still the director, when i was DOING HER JOB. because she couldn't do it well at all. all i did was teach the group vocals for whose house is this and she flipped out on me, called me a few not good words, and was super upset. after that i apologized (even though none of it was my fault) and we were good. so anyways after that incident i felt less close to this girl, and kind of was getting annoyed with her. she lied about a lot of things too like taking dance classes after school for 5 hours, her dad being in germany the whole month of april, etc. so after the show, in a group chat with me, my best friend, our damian, our regina, and our mrs norbury (who all happend to be on drama club asb except for our damian since he's a seventh grader) were all talking about the show. except for our mrs norbury. anyways the conversation drifted from the show to how our cady was really bad and messed up a lot onstage. i didn't really say anything, just agreed with their statements and said a few things but for the most part i pretty much only said 'she said xyz and got mad at me for xyz'. our regina and damian were really the ones talking and my best friend didn't say much but kind of was just like 'aww thank you guys for saying i would've been a great cady'. so like 10 minutes into our discussion, our norbury gets on the chat and says 'i can't believe you guys are sayign that about syd.' and said 'you guys are lying about her which is not nice.' and left. which i don't blame her since she was friends with syd/cady and she really did eat that up. HOWEVER. norbury told syd about the chat, without screenshots, and said we were all talking about her behind her back. (what's super funny is this other girl jessie was in the chat but was not active at all for any of what was going on, so i have no idea if norbury grouped jessie in with us or not) regina and damian apologized to syd, but me and my best friend didn't because we weren't as involved. so fast forward to today, about exactly a week after mean girls. syd had been ignoring my best friend this week and didn't necessarily talk to me unless absolutely unavoidable. and we were having a cast ice cream party at lunch! (thanks ms shuler ilyyyy!!) anyways people were discussing what the next show would be (even though most of us were 8th graders). [ an important thing to mention would be that syd and i are co-presidents of drama club ] and i told syd 'respectfully i think we should be able to make decisions in drama asb as a GROUP.' and syd cut me off saying 'well RESPECTFULLY I DON'T THINK YOU SHOULD TALK ABOUT YOUR FRIENDS BEHIND MY BACK' to which i responded something along the lines of 'do you have screenshots?' and she pulled up a text from norbury and read it to me and i was thinking 'bestie doesn't have screenshots so??' anyways i think she was expecting me to get really upset but i didn't feel that upset at all. she was jumping to conclusions, however norbury didn't specify me and my best friend not being involved in what was going on. so after that the bell rang and this may be rude but i was thinking 'THANNK GOD I DON'T HAVE ANY CLASSES WITH HER AFTER 10AM' i was not offended at all, but me and regina were kind of laughing about it. we told my best friend who wasn't there and it was crazy. so the rest of the day was fine. and regina texts me 'DID YOU GO TO THE WELLNESS CENTER???' so i said no because i didn't at all. and to summarize it after going back and forth with regina i decide to text my best friend who regina heard from. and get this. she said she heard from syd that syd and i were in the wellness center during 5th period talking to a counselor and that i was playing the victim. so i told my best friend that i was literally in science the whole time and was doing this assignment and i spent like a whole 15 minutes trying to make it look all aesthetic and me and my friends were just drawing and talking the whole period. syd was spreading a rumor now that i was playing the victim when we were talking to the counselor?? so yeah i don't know what to do about it. i'm probably gonna tell my friend jessie who cough wASN'T AT SCHOOL TODAY BECAUSE SHE WAS AT DISNEYLANd. but i don't know if i should confront syd about it or not because she really believes i was actively talkign about her behind her back in the group chat the whole time.
