✈️ A R C H I E ✈️ I N T R O Archie is a horse I am leasing/training from @loowchen. I don't own him. He is a very sweet boy. <3 btw, this is the first of 5 updates I will be doing with him. ✈️ P A S T U R E First off, I headed to Archie's pasture. He seemed a bit nervous at first, but I eventually got him calmed down enough to let me slip a halter on him. Once that was done, I led him to the wash bay. On the way there, he seemed curious of the ranch. I was hoping he would get to know it better, as he would be staying here for 5 months. ✈️ W A S H B A Y At the wash bay, Archie cooperated and stayed put in the cross ties. I used a dandy brush to soften up his coat first. Then, I sprayed his hair with some detangler. After that, I used my mane comb to get it where I wanted it. After that, we headed to the Indoor Arena. Same thing on the way there, he was curious. ✈️ I N D O O R A R E N A After grooming, Archie and I were ready to start our session. Earlier that day I had put some treats and a pole in so that I was ready. I tied Archie’s lead rope to the pole so that I didn’t have to hold him and got the saddlepad. I gently placed it on him and quickly got out of the way. Archie did a little buck so that it would come off him. I tried again and this time, he let it stay on him but he danced in place and did a tiny rear. I quickly said “good boy!” And gave him a treat. After that, I took off the saddlepad and led him back to the wash bay. ✈️ W A S H B A Y After our session, I took Archie to the wash bay again. On the way there, he seemed to be familiar with his surroundings, which I was happy to see. We kinda had an awkward moment where he just looked into my eyes and I looked into his. After that, I just brushed him off real quick and led him back to his paddock. ✈️ P A S T U R E I led Archie back to his paddock and I saw him walking away so I turned to leave. Then, he turned back and I walked forward again. In that moment, we just clicked and I knew the rest of his training wasn’t going to be terribly hard. After that, he went off to graze his pasture. I was satisfied of our progress. ✈️ S E S S I O N S T A T S Duration - 35 Minutes Growth - Furthered experience in a saddle Next Session Goals - Getting a saddle on Archie Time Until Next Session - 1 Month
