I just had a dash of inspiration -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We all know Liondare as this fun, kind, maybe a bit to paranoid, but good guy, right? But he has some flaws in this, his good traits become bad when looked closely, and this done not mean he is all bad traits but does mean that there is bad in good. A dash of toxicity in the demeanor of the kind tom. So with out further ado, let me get into this! Liondare's generally a good cat, but...look closer. You see Liondare value's loyalty, and his clan, more than anything, he will give up his life for his clan no questions asked. This means however, that he is overly-self-sacficing. He would give up his love for his clan, his life, his blood, his heart. And this behavior drains Liondare. Liondare drains himself for the good of the clan, like taught all his life, he gives and gives, even when there is nothing to give, and eventually Liondare reaches a breaking point and takes his anger out on a innocent bystander, possibly just looking to help. One slip up, one little thing, will break his glass exterior, and he will yell and scream until his lungs hurt. He has never show this behavior to his kits....yet.{POSSIBLE LORE IDEA FOR HIM-} He is a good-hearted cat, and he means well, even with his kindness breaking with how much he gives. He tries to stay kind, but he's now, unlike in the past, will not sugarcoat anything, he see's no reason to, sugarcoating gets you nowhere. It's just avoiding the topic. So he gets straight to the point and will break hard news straight out. But that doesn't mean he won't show sympathy. Like I said, he gives to much, so he will care and comfort, but it will wear him down. Or if he's at his breaking point, he will snap and scream and yell. Like he doesn't care, but he does, he just doesn't want to. So he yells and gets all his anger out, which in reality, is just emotional tiredness from giving everything to shadowclan. Liondare, because of his emotional exhaust, clings to his family and cats her cares about, giving them plenty of affection and hating when they leave, wanting to scream at them to come back. He does everything he can to make them stay, without using manipulation. This opens it up for him to manipulated. If somecat promised to stay with him if he did something, he would do it no question, taking the attention. If a cat promised to listen if he did something, he'd do it. No questions, no arguments, he just wants to be heard and seen, so if they wrong cat interacted with him, he would be in there claws. An easy puppet, an obedient dog, a doll. Listening to everycat but himself. He may be distrusting but just a bit of trickery, and he'll be at your paws. Liondare may not trust cats, at first, but it doesn't take much for them to earn it, they just have to act loyal and honest. Just long enough and he'll treat them like a normal cat, and they could twist him now to their will. If Liondare has an opinion, he'll stick with it to the end. Even if all the evidence points him wrong. This also means if he believes a cat if good, he'll stand by then till the end, even if every cat proves him wrong. This also makes him double-down on his bad behaviors. This helps fuel his pessimistic attitude which he sticks to. He believes that there is no good outcome, even with many good things happening in his life, he focuses on that bad. This doesn't help his emotional exhaust. He will talk and act negative, in his mind there is no bright side. Kinda fits for shadowclan doesn't it? Liondare is a glass vase, it breaks with ease, then the water is everywhere, and all you have is a mess on your hands. Why is Liondare like this? He was raised this way, raised up to be the self-sacrificing cat he is. He is a tool that if not controlled, will make sure he is used until broken. He makes himself that tool to be used. He has no idea what else to be anyway. He may be loyal, helpful, affectionate, and honest. But pull away the thin, glass exterior, you are met with an angry, easy to control, negative, distrusting mess that will cling to the smallest thing of attention.
I realized I might be projecting onto Liondare a tiny bit- Also might add more. And after writing this it inspired my next arc for him. So now I know what to do with him.
