[The Woodcarver's Curse] 38 (New Generation) Mother always says that I cannot go wandering in strange places, especially barren ones. But she doesn't understand that I'm independent. I only like places where there are no people. When I walk home with Mother from kindergarten everyday (I'm only five), we pass a forest full of strong trees. I wanted to go there. "Adrienne! Where are you?" Oops! That's Mother. I ran to the backyard to see her calling me. "Adrienne, thank goodness. I thought you had vanished into a portal! Where had you been?" Mother asked. I lied to her saying that I had been to the park to play. She told me that she'll bring me there tomorrow. I couldn't stop thinking about that otter ever since.
