Chapter two: Lucy walked toward the forest, quickly and quietly. When she got to the trail, a sudden sound boomed through the forest, one that she had not heard since her mother had disappeared. She was scared, but entered the forest anyway. She began to see shadows and one, she recognized it. An exact match to a shadow her neighbors described. “Hey you! Stop scaring our neighbors!” Lucy said without thinking what would happen to her. She realized what she said and ran further up the path to where the trail split into three ways. Left, right, and straight. “That's strange” Lucy thought. If the monster was trying to kill someone, why would it give her options to its direction, and two other ways? Doesn't it want to kill her? She told herself to clear her mind of questions and get focused on the moment. The monster was coming close behind! She felt like she should go left, because light was that way, but she went straight. The right was blocked by trees. She ran until suddenly, a bright light appeared in the distance. It was faint, almost like it was running out of light. She ran towards it, and found nothing but a dead end. She tried to find out where she should run next, and noticed a tree that went very high and had lots of branches. The monster was stopping, and took its breath. Suddenly the shadow disappeared. Lucy had lost Luna. She began climbing the tree as fast as she can and the monster's shadow appeared again. She climbed up to the highest point in the tree and looked down. It was now running faster than she had ever seen before, like it was in a hurry to catch her for something important. “Could it be,” thought Lucy. Her eyes widened. This creature seemed strangely familiar. It could be trying to catch her for something important, but she could not think of a better reason than to feed its family. Suddenly, the shadow disappeared and paused. It was like a five second pause, and then the shadow appeared again. Lucy did not want to end up as breakfast for some beast and clapped her hand over her mouth. The monster was now walking, slumping in a weird way, as if it was trying to look fierce and relax at the same time. It was getting closer and closer as Lucy planned out her escape plan. She could swing onto a different tree, until she leaves the forest, or she could stay to find her mom. She chose to find her mom, unless the beast is too fierce. The monster came closer and closer and soon stepped into the light, looking for Lucy. Lucy looked down and saw what it was. She was terrified to see what it was. She began to see why she chose the wrong choice of staying to save her mom. In front of her was a fearsome beast, and one of the strongest things she had ever seen. It was a dragon.
Thanks to the scratcher who actually looked at my projects. My motivation shall forever decrease if someone doesn't give me a thumbnail.
