I don't know guys, I just wanted to give the kidnap dad (Maglor) a kid that he didn't have to feel guilty about caring for. Meet Alcariel, Maglor's adoptive daughter. Some time post the yeeting of the Silmaril into the sea, while he's wandering the coast singing laments, Maglor happens to stumble across an orc attack on a small elven family. He's too late to save the parents of the young elleth, but manages to rescue her. He tries to take her back to the closest elven settlement, but is unable to - partially because he's not allowed close enough to explain why he came (kinslayers aren't exactly welcome, even if they come bearing an elfling), and partially because the child is unwilling to leave her savior, no matter how much he insists he shouldn't be given responsibility for another child. Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately) for him, the elfling has the stubbornness to rival any Fëanorian, and he ends up adopting her. Years down the line, towards the end of the third age and around the events of LotR, Alcariel convinces her Atto to go to Imladris to reunite with Elrond and offer their aid in the fight against Sauron. After Sauron's defeat, Elrond and Alcariel convince Maglor to sail with them (I personally like the idea that the Oath broke when Maedhros and Maglor stole the Silmarils back, even if they were rejected by them. Maybe the rejection broke the Oath, idk-) and while in Valinor are reunited with the rest of Maglor's family (at least those currently released from the halls of Mandos). No, I'm not sure what lineage she comes from pre-adoption. She's probably Noldor, but maybe partially Avari. Yes I did try to do a thing with the name. Yes it is rather simple and a little cringy. If I did my research right, 'Alcar' is a Quenya noun for glory/brilliance and '-iel' is the suffix for daughter. 'Agar' is one of the closest Sindarin equivalents to 'Alcar'. 'Alcarin' is the masculine version of the name, and was used by one of the kings of Númenor. So, 'Alcariel' is her Quenya name, and 'Agariel' is her Sindarin name. Yes, I did make her entirely just so that: A) Maglor got a new kid AND B) Elrond gets a little more family with him when he sails.
