I danced around with another kid to the music my Dad played upon the stage with his friends. The other kid; her name was Emma, was very pretty.Me, with my rowdy spirit and spaghetti stained t-shirt seemed shabby next to this glowing girl. She didn't seem to mind, though. She tossed her thick braids and motioned for me to come. I stepped toward her and she smiled mischievously at me, and disappeared in the crowd of adults. I soon caught up with her. We were far from my parents, and I could hardly hear the music from here. She whispered "Jason, look what I found!" pointing at a tall tree. I stared at her, baffled. "So?" "Let's climb it, goof!" "Oka- wait, what?" "C'mon...scardy cat." she grinned, taunting me. She reached up and heaved herself on the lowest branch, and continued from there. Shakily, I followed suit. What else was I supposed to do? Soon, we were at the top. Emma stood up on the highest branch and reached her hand down to mine. She pulled me up and sighed happily. I did too. I liked being next to this pretty girl, it felt nice. Emma looked at me softly. I felt my stomach twist. She smiled and held my hand. "We're really high up. Hope we don't fall." she said, not helping me with this sensation in my chest. She looked at me again. Something about that look was extremely unnerving. I closed my eyes. Suddenly, I felt the impact of something hard wham hard in my gut. My eyes flicked open as I toppled from the branch and I saw Emma laughing freakishly as she watched me fall. As shut my watering eyes and screamed. My eyes fluttered open. I was awake...awake!! It was just a bad dream, a nightmare. And it was ov- "Why do you look so funny? Like you've seen a ghost. Not surprised, though. That brat isn't much better." I swung around. There was nothing there but some pebbles, a few beetles, and a golden flower. The flower! I was a gamer, I knew it was the flower. "I'm down here, you big lump." Uhm, not the flower. I looked down. "There you go, kiddo!" I stared. A spider. A talking spider. Just what I needed now. "Well, I'm Rita-" "Skeeter?" I interrupted. But I thought- 'No, She's a beetle, not a spider. And, no glasses." "No, you silly boy" he spider glared up at me in a very human-like fashion. I didn't like it. Too creepy. "Boy, you're in grave da-" "Lady-" I started. "Spider", she sniffed. I rolled my eyes. "Spider. this is the real world, not Hogwarts!" "...sure" she blinked. I did too. She looked bigger... "Boy, it is impolite to stare." Rita shifted her 1.2 grams of weight to 5 or her sturdy legs. Wait... sturdy!? I gazed down at her blankly. "Stop it, boy." She crooned in a falsely sweet voice. Hair spiked out of her legs and back. A liquid-like ripple flowed under her exoskeleton. I breathed in sharply, eyes widening. "I'll give you to the count of three." she said smoothly, now the size or a large rat. "One." I stepped back. The hairs hardened to dangerous looking black spikes. "Two." It was the size of my hound, Bella, who I realized with a jolt I's probably never see again. "Three." Dark splotches clouded my eyes. With a sickening thud, I fell to the ground and... I sat up sharply from my bed. I sighed with relief. It was a dream. Just a dre- "It's not over quite yet, brat."
This is written and read by me.(press space to turn audio off) I did it for the writers group I'm in. I will be posting all my short stories from now on. The girl is kinda based on Chara. Flowey obviously takes part befor Jason meets Rita. Rita Skeeter is from Harry Potter, as is Hogwarts. I got the idea of the spider growing, with a fluid-like motion from Majora's incarnation turning into majora's wrath from The Legend of Zelda- Majora's Mask. This story is based on a first memory, which was going to a show with my mom and dad (My dad was playing guitar) and I do remember dancing around. The object of this story was to take that first memory and turn it to fiction (which I did pretty well)
