Why/how does motion blur occur? Because when an object moves while a camera is capturing an image. This happens because the camera needs a certain amount of light to hit the film or sensor in order to produce a clear image. If the object is in motion during this time, the light hitting the film or sensor will change, resulting in a blurred image.
