When I first came in to meet Lavender she was in the pasture. I decided to wait outside, to she what she would do, and observe her movements. Once I started watching her, she seemed alright, there was no sign of pain. I loved how curious and quick she was to come up to me, happily accepting pets. As soon as I was sure Violet was comfortable with me, i slipped inside the gate, to hopefully walk a bit with her. Once I got it, I slowly called her to walk with me, noticing how low she dragged her hooves. More explained at the end /\/\ Next I asked Violet to trot, watching her closely. She went slowly, which wasn’t to concerning as some horse are like that (especially since she’s older). I tried to watch her muscles moving, and thinking about the posting of the rider and how she would feel. After doing some more observing and bonding, I had a conclusion on her retirement.
