Much like how soccer players would play games or dancers would have recitals, horse shows are a way for riders to show off their skills. The horse show in this game is centered around saddle seat riding (since that's what I do and know best). • • • What's special about horse shows is that they often take place at some kind of horse park or fairground. At either one, a horse show may go on for a couple of days at a time to accommodate all kinds of riding and levels of riding experience. Since a show often lasts all day, there's usually a place for both riders and people watching the show to get food. The riders spend a good portion of time getting ready for their time to show, because there's a lot of getting dressed up and makeup to be worn. An explanation of way the actual competitive part works and the judging can all be found inside the game when you go to the arena. ✦SOMETHING YOU DON'T NEED TO READ✦ •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Guys look! I did it! I made a good looking, functional scrolling game! Better yet, I made a good looking game that's not a dress up game! Mind you, I love making dress up games and y'all seem to like them, but it feels good to know that I'm capable of making other games too. So... yeah. Hope you enjoy! Also, just a note: I know all horse shows aren't like this, but I tried to make a horse show that best represented the horse shows I've both watched and participated in, all of which are primarily shows for saddle seat riding. Also, a lot of shows I ride in aren't as fancy as this, but I wanted to incorporate a lot of different elements that I like from horse shows I've at least watched. Also also, I started this game about a year ago and have worked on it on and off, hence the fact it's in a completely different style and different than a lot of my other stuff. ✦CREDITS✦ •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• • Code- I learned how to make scrolling games from a project by and a big thanks to them because it was a struggle for me to get this working, but with their help, here it is! Outside of the scrolling, I did all the code on my own. • Art & Animation- I did all my own art and animation, though the style takes inspiration from 's tutorial because I liked how easily you could animate her character. • Music- Credit to Steve Karmen for the organ music (I found it in this project: • Sparkle Sound Effect- I actually recorded this sound myself on some chimes, but anyone is welcome to use it. I just thought it added a nice touch to the game. ✦TAGS✦ ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
