(Please don’t hate me after this) Now, there are some small creators on YouTube out there who have been posting videos where they state that they hate when they spend ages editing their content, but then there’s these girls on TikTok that do a dance and get millions of views. There’s two things i’d like to address about this statement, so buckle up. Now, first of all, i’d like to say that time and effort are two different things. You could spend a full month making a video and it could look like it was edited by a five year old that was given iMovie on an old iPod. However, some people could spend only a day on their content and it could look like it was made by a Hollywood film studio on a budget of 1 billion dollars. The second thing i’d like to mention is that these people always state that platforms like TikTok are the ones with the content that takes little time to edit and get popular. However, these platforms have different quality averages for popular content. Popular YouTubers like DanTDM have high content quality averages for their content. However, popular TikTokers (I don’t have examples, I don’t use TikTok) have low quality averages for their content, at least I assume. Like I said, I don’t use TikTok. I’m not saying that all content on TikTok is low quality, i’m sure there’s a creator on there who makes amazing content. But the vast majority of this content has little time put into it, but still have high effort to appeal to their fans. Still, i’m not 100% sure that statement is true. Now, next time you post a video on YouTube about how your content doesn’t get the respect it deserves, despite how much time you put into it, think how much EFFORT you put into it. Otherwise, I don’t feel bad for you.
