when you add yourself, right click on the type of moshi monster you are in 'Sprite 1'. Then click on 'Turn into new sprite'. edit the costume for the sprite you just made. below it, write your username, and below that, write the name of your monster. Change the size of the sprite to below 65 at least. rct3fan24 worked with me to make this and he added himself too. You can add a moshling too (if your not lazy). Youll have to go to goggle images and get the picture of the moshling off there and import it into the project.
