(Sorry, this isn't for April Fools) Here's another needle felting project, this time with the fuzzy space dogs from Pikmin 4, Oatchi and Moss! I actually made Oatchi way back in May 2024 (and was going to post this project then), but never finished the project. Originally, @Silvertaill was going to make Moss, but she had horse crafts that she was doing instead, so I started Moss in June 2025. I ended up losing motivation in her, and did other stuff like the EA craft contest and all of my Hollow Knight crafts. I only recently decided to actually finish Moss, since I was so close anyway (I finished her March 30th or smth). Click, space, or arrow keys to move forward and back 1. Thumbnail 2-8. Oatchi process - First, I made the pipe cleaner legs and tail and a ball around them, shaped like his body. Then, I added a flatter head-shaped piece onto the body and covered it in yellow. I did the mouth and tounge separately and attached them to the face already colored. I also made the ears separately, with one part covered with the orange, and added felt to his legs and tail. I didn't take any more photos of the process after that. 9-11. Oatchi final result - I changed the orange color, added the eyes and tail poof, and did the collar! I also added paw pads and the orange patches. I think in-game Oatchi is still cuter, but I like my Oatchi in general! 12-15. Moss process - I started with the same ball and head strategy, but apparently forgot the tail, and did the muzzle before color??? Idk, it was a year since I did Oatchi XD. Then I colored her green, looked at a whole bunch of references for her patches (hence the lightly placed blue that then gets solidified), and proceeded to lose motivation completely. Everything after those photos was done recently and wasn't documented. 16-17. Moss final product - I colored the muzzle and legs, added the tail, and did the eyes and ears (plus a bit of touch-up on the green color). Overall, I think she looks pretty good, and I'm glad her eyelids aren't creepy! I couldn't find any images of the sniffing pose that I was doing, but oh well (the green looks a lot less blue irl). 18. Both of them together! I think Moss should have been slightly bigger/Oatchi could be should smaller in order to fit with their in-game proportions, but they both work pretty well! 19-20. My cat was with me when I was photoshooting, so I put them on top of her :3 21-22. Oatchi and Moss with flowers! 23. Lace wants to ride Oatchi, and fits well (despite being a little big to actually ride). I have a few more finished HK things that I'm probably going to make a project about soon, but I figured I'd do this first. Oatchi and Moss belong to Nintendo Made by me Music is Garden of Hope - Morning from Pikmin 3 (yes I know it's not the right pikmin game) I have much more complicated music code than normal because I wanted to have the different parts of the music (Oatchi process, Moss process, and photoshoot all have different music). Feel free to use this code with credit to me (if you can figure out how to use it XD). Wow I completed this whole project in a day after having not edited "Needle felted Oatchi" since May 21, 2024 (the only thing in the project was a scrapped version of the description).
