1997 Midori Kuali (only 10 exist) ——————— At the start of 1996, predating the Himitsu Project, Midori desired to make something different, simply because they were bored with all the 2 door coupes they were releasing at the time. Midori decided to try their hand at one of the most obscure and out of whack markets they could think of, and they set their eyes on the Limo market. Limo's were extremely weird and foreign to Midori's engineers, as they had always been about lightweight and nimble performance cars, and never about heavy boats like Limo's. So, Midori's engineers worked hard over the course of a few months. The result was the 1997 Kuali, a limo boasting a very early version of the Sparkfox V12 engine. The Kuali was heavy as expected, weighing in at an extremely heavy 5102 kilograms. So, it is not a big surprise that the Sparkfox V12 put in the Kuali was originally meant for a supercar prototype. This meant that the V12 revved up to 1640 horsepower at 8500 RPMs, making a loud, angry sound. Despite the intimidation of the engine, the Kuali took 5.56 seconds to get to 60 MPH, and topped out at 121.5 MPH. The Kuali was such a weird vehicle that upon release, car collectors just had to get their hands on it. It ended up becoming more successful than expected, giving Midori the brilliant idea for the Himitsu Project the very next year. ——————— .
