Slowly, Axel began to smuggle scraps of leftover magic from his job as a government scientist to use with Switch, who was now his only subject. Eventually, the build-up of magic doses allowed Switch to realise what was happening and escape from her new prison with the aid of a scythe, a weapon constructed by Axel specifically to help her channel her dimension-travelling abilities, and get away from the father who had once treated her like the most important creature ever created and now pushed her about carelessly like a simple lab rat. This change inspired Switch to help others escape a fate like hers, not only in her own universe but also within as many others as she can access.
