Purple's my favorite color. I don't know why, it just is. Before that, it was green. And before that, yellow. You can always tell what my favorite color is just by looking at me. After all, I'm wearing all purple right now. And the walls of my room are purple. And the comforter. And the pillows. Sheets. Curtains. Dresser. Lamp. "Gracy!" I jerk out of my mind and watch Lin run across the grass. Lin is my best friend. She's much braver than me. Lin bounces on her feet. "Brook is absent." She tells me. Brook is the most popular kid in school. She's also our bully. Lin has the same bus stop as Brook, and Lin's sister is Brook's friend, so Lin would know. Lin walks inside the school, still ridiculously happy. When was the last time I've seen her this happy? In Second Period, an announcement comes up on the intercom. It tells us that someone in our school is missing. And we have to go home. Lin and Maddie stand next to me while we're waiting. Lin is bouncing up and down on her feet, looking around. A worried look is on her face. Maddie is texting their parents. She looks even more worried than Lin. Their silver car pulls up to the sidewalk. Maddie opens the door and steps inside. Lin turns towards me and waves before stepping in after Maddie. Soon, everyone is gone. But me. I wait. And I wait. Eventually, I have to walk home. So I do. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Yay! I love writing confusing things that no one understands except for me. :)
