Firstly, and when you click the plus button, the pen sprite generates a new parallax - this is not the same as drawing it. What this does is store the data for each individual part into lists. 2. Secondly, the pen sprite draws the starfield each tick of the game by extracting data from the lists so it knows where and what to draw. 3. The parallax/psuedo-3D part comes in by simply adding the mouse's x or y divided by an amount depending on the size of the part.
