Everyone knows how to play Breakout! Collect powerups and bounce your ball to clear each level and gain points. -- Orange Brick: hit once to destroy -- Red Brick: hit twice to destroy -- Gray Obstacle: will deflect your ball -- Portals: will teleport you back and forth -- Power-Ups: two should appear each level -- Coins: will give you a point boost. -- Grow: your bar will become bigger -- Shrink: your bar will become smaller and activate a score X2 -- Flameball: speeds up & burns through every brick it touches
Once I got the graphics satisfactory, I spent a LONG time on coding. Now, my algorithm works by me simply drawing a nice background as the new level. Got any ideas? Known bugs: the bouncing algorithm is sketchy when it hits red bricks and obstacles. 4 levels ready. The program freaks out if you beat the last level, because I'm going to add more and haven't programmed the end-game sequence. Any level ideas? Post them below!
