Hello! Here I’ve written down my opinion on AI art in three short paragraphs. Please do not act disrespectful if you disagree. I’d be happy to host a respectful, fact-based debate! Its impact on the industries of Art, Music, Writing, Teaching Art, Architecture, Script Writing, Poetry, Acting, Photography and Interior Design are too great to ignore. It also causes laziness and encourages cheating for young students. On top of all that, it gives poor quality art with no true creativity, effort, or human ingenuity behind it that lowers the standard for what art should be. It creates a loss of jobs and lowers the quality of entertainment and other design. It also discourages creativity among kids and convinces people that it’s ok to use someone else’s art as your own. AI art could be used for good, but monitoring people’s use of it all the time is unrealistic and borders on impossible. Many people are uninformed about the subject, but it goes much deeper than just art. The best course of action would be to make it impossible to export it directly from one site to another, add watermarks to it, and restrict the websites that create it so that they can’t steal other people’s art and rely instead on either art created by artists hired specifically for the task of training AI or simple art rules that the AI uses. I don’t know a lot about tech or if that last one is within the realm of possibility, but if it is, it would be a worthwhile endeavor to prevent things like copyright infringement, art theft, intellectual property theft, and a bunch of other crimes associated with other types of AI. Sorry I wrote so much, but I meant it all.
Credits and Notices: Some of this I got from my sister, and I guarantee you can trust her on this topic. She’s a student in art school for college and she knows a lot about the subject. Feel free to cite this argument if you want! <3 If you want, I can turn this into an essay complete with up to six paragraphs, twelve pieces of evidence from .org and .edu sources only, and proofreading. I’d be completely willing to do that— and I would never use AI to write for me. As an artist and aspiring author, this topic means a lot to me and I’d happily help out anyone who needs help researching this. Again, feel free to use me as a source. I can guarantee that this information is reliable because I’ve seen some of its impacts in person.
