Chapter 1 I didn't remember much of my early life. The only memories I have are of my big expectations to get into Hogwarts and leave as a Slytherin. Another memory I still have is all the favoritism put in towards my twin, Draco. One summer afternoon a letter arrived in the mail. It was addressed for me, it was from Hogwarts. I HAD GOT IN! "Where is Draco's!" yelled my father as he finished reading mine. He looked at me as if I would have the answer. I shrugged and faced to my brother. He had a sour expression on his face. The next day came and another letter arrived in the mail. This time for Draco. The letter had explained how he had got in as well and apologized for the short delay. Later that day mother and father and taken us to Diagon Allay for shopping. "Go." my father said pointing at the pet shop. I pointed at myself in question. "Yes you." mother said from next to father. I stood there for about a second concerned that my parents were actually letting me get a pet. My mom motioned for me and Draco to go in. Draco left the store after about 3 minutes with an eagle owl on his arm. I however was not interested in owls, I had always had a strong bond with cats. I made my way to the cat section. My eyes fell upon a black cat who was sun bathing on a window ledge. He meowed softly I as came up to him. I carefully picked him up and went to the check out line. "That'll be 80 galleons" said the checkout witch. "80!" I yelled almost dropping the cat. The witch nodded slowly. I set the cat down my my feet. "Why that much?" I asked. The witch peered down at the cat who was playing with my fingers. "He's a bombay, very smart indeed." The witch said to me. I sighed and paid my money. "He's a playful one" the witch called after me as I was leaving the store. "Do you have any toys for him to play with!" I nodded, I had a large collection of cat toys from my former cat Dandelion who had sadly passed not too long ago. "What took you so long?" father asked, his tone of voice indicated that he was not pleased. "I was getting my cat." I responded my hands shaking from fear. "How much was it?" he asked. I bit my lip in fear. "Don't worry about it," I said as we made our way to the next store. I left the wand shop with aspen wand with a dragon heartstring core. After we had finished out purchases we left to go home. I had taken me a while but I finally decided on a name for my cat. "Ritter." I said softly as I stroked his black fur. "What kind of a name is that?" asked Draco rudely, who had overheard me. I turned around to see him standing behind me. "It means Knight in German." I responded. He rolled his eyes and walked away. At last, the time had come. We were at platform 9 3/4 waiting for the train. Suddenly a loud train whistle broke the silence. Draco got on to the train with his owl and luggage. Just as I was about to get on the train I felt someone grab my arm. It was father he whispered in my ear, "Don't disappoint us." ~End of Chapter 1~
