Before the incident, I had used this window as an escape many times. After the fire, I had stopped. Now, I wasn’t exactly what you would say expecting the length of the fall. Finally, I felt something beneath me. My sister had half caught me, half let me fall into the now wilder bush beneath the window. I felt the larger thorns break the surface of my skin. /Really shouldn’t have worn white today./ I thought in annoyance. As I made my way out of the bushes, Tessa handed me my luggage. “Come on. We can see if we could stay with the Lestranges’. The other Tess probably misses us.” Tessa informed me. The Coldglow’s were cousins the with Lestranges’ and Malfoys’. I had a cousin the same age as us named Tenessa, and some of her nicknames were the same as my sisters. We often found it a bit confusing, and resolved to calling her Tess instead of Tessa. “Okay. Uhm, I’ll go get a couple brooms from the garage so we don’t have to walk.” I told Tessa. “Alright. Wait, make sure to get Nightshade and Amethyst.” My sister reminded me. “Got it!” I walked over to the garage, entering through the window so as not to alert my father with the noise of opening the gate. Once I was inside, I grabbed three of the best brooms, then went to get the pets’ cages. I then exited the garage carefully again, a bit more difficult with the amount of things I was carrying. I ran back to my sister, then handed her a broom. “Why three?” She asked me. “To make it easier, we could put the animals’ cages and our bags on the extra broomstick.” “Smart. Come on, let’s go.” Tessa said. I quickly put the cages and luggage onto the broom, then mounted mine. I held the other broom firmly against the side of my broom. The brook rose beneath me, and we were off. I landed and dismounted my broom, setting the one with luggage on the ground. “I’ll do the talking.” Tessa informed me. I nodded in response. We walked to the door of the large house. Tessa rang the doorbell, then knocked. The house was practically in the middle of nowhere, but before the incident, e and my sister had come here a lot to hang out with the other Tess. The door opened, and Tess walked out. Almost immediately, she had her arms around the both of us. “Oh my god, where have you girls been?! I haven’t seen you guys in more than a year! No one ever filled me in on anything.” Tess exclaimed. “We promise to tell you everything later, but we have nowhere to stay right now. Do you think aunt Bellatrix will let us stay with you for the time being?” Tessa asked Tess. “Of course! She practically adores you guys. But, uh, I do have a question. Why weren’t you guys at Hogwarts last year?” Tess asked us. This time, I answered. “Our father wouldn’t let us. And, when Mum died, there was no one to defend us.” I said quickly. Then me and Tessa stepped inside, setting our stuff down. “Mum! Can you come here for a moment?” Called Tess. “What is it?” Said Bellatrix, apparating next to her daughter. “Oh, what a surprise. Welcome girls. What’s the occasion?” She asked us. “Er, can we stay here for the rest of the summer? It’s just that we’ve been kind of put out of place at our home.” Tessa informed her nervously. “Of course, girls. Wait, you father isn’t here, right?” Bella asked. “No.” “Thank goodness. Alright, Tess, can you show them the guest room? Oh, I’ll bring your brooms to the garage.” Bella told her daughter. “Got it. Right this way, twins.” As we followed Tess up the stairs and into the guest bedroom. It had two sets of bunk beds, and the blankets were black-blue. “Thanks. We can handle this ourselves now.” I told Tess. “Make yourselves at home. Oh, there’s familiars’ (pets of a witch or wizard) food in the closet, third shelf second drawer.” She told us, then walked out of the room, shutting the door behind her. “Hey, remember this?” Tessa said, pointing to a painting that we both had drawn of Bellatrix and Tess. “Yeah. Remember how Celia and Alex almost tore it apart until we did one of them? And then Tiara accidentally set the kitchen of fire, and it burned. God, their expressions were priceless.” I responded, remembering that time four years ago. “Yeah.. anyway, let’s unpack.” Tessa started unpacking her bag, and I did the same. /This is actually turning out better than I anticipated,/ I thought.
