I had a lot of fun with this :3 ----------------------------------------------------------------- "ODEN!" Hestia froze, her fur raising on end. Before her lay the unmoving body of a brown tomcat, fur ripped and torn, and the unmistakable lump of blood and bone; Oden's leg had been torn off by the cult leader. She stumbled towards him, trying to steady her breathing through ragged pants. 'He has to be breathing- he HAS to,' she thought to herself. She threw herself against his body, licking at the gapping wounds of her adopted son, curling around him to keep his body warm. 'You cannot leave us, you can't.' Pressing her ear against his chest, she could hear the faintest heartbeat, and feel the slight rise and fall of his chest. "Oh thank you ancestors- thank you,' Hestia murmured, as she returned to licking away the dry blood from Oden's pelt. A crack in the woods behind her made her jolt up, and she placed herself defensively over the young cat's body, bushing up her fur. The unmistakable fur of Perseus, leader of the Cult of Astanphaeus, flashed through the trees, before He himself stepped out into the light, blood smeared across his face. "What have you done," Hestia growled. "He was a heretic. My Church must be cleansed," Perseus purred, sitting mere mouselengths away from Hestia. He licked his paw, rubbing it across his muzzle. "Want a taste? It's simply delectable, to taste the sin of the unbeliever. To feel yourself purging them of all doubt; all fear." He paused to look Hestia into the eyes, a smirk glinting across his face. "Of course, sometimes a sinner escapes my grasp. Don't they, my dear?" Hestia spat at him, lashing her tail. "Oden was not yours to harm. He was never a part of your damnable cult, he never swore himself in, you KIDNAPPED him for the gods' sakes. You are a miserable tyrant. You wanted a sacrifice for Astanphaeus? Pick someone from your group. Leave my cats alone," she gave a low warning, stretching out her claws into the dirt, preparing herself to leap at the small tom. Perseus gave her an amused chuckle, before stretching back and leaning into her ear. "Oh my dear Hestia," his breath running hot through her body, "I do hope you don't take on too much deadweight." He prodded the limp body of Oden. "Because one day, you won't be able to run." ----------------------------------------------------------------- Character - Hestia (me!!
