(Mentions of abuse/neglect!) Ollie and Laila are siblings. Twins, in fact. Their parents didn’t want two children, so they just chose a favourite out of the two. Ollie was the lucky one. Ollie never really hated his sister, but when your parents do one thing, their children often follow. They always found a way to insult or ignore Laila’s accomplishments. It was always: “That is ugly, Laila.” “You can do better, Laila, but you choose not to.” “Stop it.” But to Ollie, “Good job, [Younger Ollie] dear!” “Don’t worry, you did your best.” “Your such a good [boy], [younger Ollie]!” They always harmed Laila physically as well. When he was younger, Ollie never questioned it, and only when he was a teenager did he ask and got the answer. Thats when he started hating his parents. How unfair, to treat one child nicely and the other with hate. Ollie died a month before Laila. He asked his mother to promise him that she’d treat Laila better. He got no response. He had hoped that she kept their promise, even if she didn’t answer, but after calling her in heaven, he hasn’t tried to contact her since. When Laila was alive, she kept on thinking, “Would I be as goo, and great as Ollie if I was their favourite?” Now, everyday in heaven, Ollie asks the same thing. [end]
