Credit to Tchaikovsky and Mozart for the music, which I remixed and rearranged to sound like a retro 1980s game. Also credit to Nintendo for huge inspiration. This has been my current hobby the last few days since I've been on school break. I ended up challenging myself to create a game similar to Yoshi for the NES, and to try and emulate a lot of features from that game. The challenge was that by the end of my break, it'd be fully functional and complete. I'm only week in and it's in working order so I thought I'd share what I've got so far! Most of the planned features are here and work as intended, but please comment any issues you might have! It seems fairly bug free, but I have noticed some small quirks that occur inconsistently, but hopefully it's still fun! I'm finding it's super important for me to work on creative projects only when I want to work on them, instead of trying to be consistent and ultimately feeling pressured to have something finished to share with people. At the end of the day, your work is YOUR work, and while it's fun to make stuff with the intent of others seeing it, the PROCESS of making something is a valuable experience that I sometimes forget exists. Sure, while this end product might be a fun little experience for a few people, I feel more rewarded from the successful trial and error I went through when attempting my first falling block puzzle game, and I hope I can continue to CREATE more things purely based on how fun it is to work on. Long story short is I don't have a consistent schedule here on Scratch, I never have, so if there's gaps in shared projects releasing, that's why. I'm feeling pretty excited about game design again, so maybe I'll be making some more NES-inspired games! Or something completely different! Who knows! I sure don't!
