Chapter 2: I get an unexpected (but delightful) surprise. I opened the door and started heading towards school, when I suddenly saw Lily Rose, my friend, running close by. “Hey, Leo!” Lily said. “Lily!” I said, “What are you doing here? Isn’t your house far from here?” “Um, well.. Yeah. But I- I thought I should walk with you to school.” Lily had wild shoes, clothes, hair, and face. But, she was always like that. She uses this headband full of leaves, and her clothes as well. She had curly, brown hair. “O-ok,” Ireplied. Lily looked relieved. She got next to me and we walked at the same rhythm. Well, at least we tried. Lily, who was 3”9, was trying to keep up with me. I was 6”1. I was always the outlier of my class, always the taller one. “Lily,” I asked. “Why did you want to go to school with me?” “W-well. I think I’ve got to tell you something, Leo.” I looked at her, all ears. Suddenly, there was a loud growl. I turned around, and I couldn’t believe what I was facing. I remembered it from the stories Mom used to tell me. It was a Cyclops.
