Hello everyone! To change between images, tap on the image or press the spacebar. I’m gonna break this desc down into a couple of sections for ease of navigation :) —— 1. About the art 2. Character backstory 3. I’m back? Maybe? 4. Credits —— 1. About the art If I’m being honest, I’ve loved Sprout’s art and character designs for years, and when I saw Milk on the DTA a couple of days back, I couldn’t help but enter. The first image displayed is a reference sheet for Alma (the name by which I’ve decided to call this character for the time being.) You can see a headshot of her in feline form, as well as a fullbody. On the lower half of the page is a human fullbody of Alma and an image of a particular experience from her childhood (the likes of which will be explained later :o) In the second image (displayed upon pressing space,) you can see a dramatized scene from Alma’s life. I had a ton of fun drawing this one, and while the perspective was a little tricky initially, I love how it turned out. —— 2. Character backstory For the sake of brevity, I’ll spare you a fully written backstory for now. However, I will break down the key details from Alma’s life and past. Alma was raised by her father, who worked around the clock to provide a lavish life for the two of them. She had attendants and nannies all her life, and rarely spent much time around her father. When Alma turned 8 years old, she grew very ill and was bedridden. Her education was provided through her various caretakers, and she grew lonely without any playmates or family members around to keep her company. This persisted for almost a year. One day, however, when Alma was certain that no one would be home, she left her bed on shaky legs in hopes to go outside. However, when she made it to her balcony, she tripped and tumbled through the glass doors, which shattered on impact. For such a violent fall Alma sustained minimal injuries, except for one: Her left eye. A shard of glass had sliced down the entire side of her face, leaving her blind. She sat in the sunlight for the first time in a year, sobbing, until she felt an unfamiliar hand on her shoulder. That’s when she met her “friend.” A creature of darkness that would go on to torment her for as long as it possibly could. I’ll be sure to provide more detail in following projects about Alma, but this had ought to give you an idea of her story, for now. Here’s her bio: Name: Alma Fletcher Age: 17, nearly 18 Personality: Graceful, sociable, and poised in public. Behind closed doors, Alma is tormented by the literal and figurative ghosts of her past. Likes: Music of all kinds, singing, cloudy days, the ocean, exotic birds. Dislikes: Time “alone,” playing instruments, too bright of weather, improper behavior in public. —— 3. I’m back? Maybe? For those here because you followed me before I moved accounts: I’m so happy to be back. It’s been too long since I’ve posted here, and honestly? I’ve really missed it. There’s a deep nostalgia that I feel each time I return to work on this project, and a sense of joy in the realization that I’m able to return to this vibrant community of artists. While I cannot promise regular uploads, I can say that I doubt I’ll be able to stay away from the platform for long. I’ve improved greatly since last I was here, and I can’t wait to share all that I’ve worked on with everyone. Feel free to reach out and say hi—I’ll be around :) —— 4. Credits All art featured in this project was created by me The character design used was made by The music is Meltdown, voiced by Kagamine Rin, and produced collaboratively between Kumamusic and Iroha (Sasaki.) —— That’s about it for now. I’ll likely be posting a second entry for this character—I’m so looking forward to drawing Alma once again. Thank you all, and (like always), I wish you the peachiest of days. <3
